PAC Australia is the national peak body representing and supporting performing arts centres, presenters and producers across Australia and delivering the annual Australian Performing Arts Exchange (APAX).

This AusArt Day we are raising funds to support the delivery of the inaugural First Nations Presenter Training Program.

The program will support First Nations producers, artists and arts workers to program, host and build audiences, and navigate presenting organisations with skill and confidence.

We have already raised $5,000. Now let’s match it; our goal is to raise $5,000 on AusArts Day. Every dollar will help us build networks and pathways for First Nations arts workers for a strong, culturally safe, and self-determined live performance sector.

Develop First Nations performing arts programmers.

AusArt Day is a nationwide fundraising movement uniting artists and arts organisations to raise funds for their work on a single, powerful day. Every donation, whoever you choose to support, can have an extraordinary impact. Make a statement about the value of the arts and get behind AusArt Day in 2026.

For our AusArt Day we are fundraising for Australia’s only First Nations Presenter Training Program, a unique national program focused on connection, shared knowledge, professional development and building strong networks for First Nations arts workers.

Emerging from an identified need to build capacity for more First Nations programmers and presenters within the live performance sector, it will be designed and delivered by respected arts leader Angela Flynn.

With 5 years’ experience delivering national training to more than 320 presenters and producers nationally, PAC Australia will partner with Angela to develop this focused training program from 2027.

The program will support First Nations producers, artists and arts workers to program, host and build audiences, and navigate presenting organisations with skill and confidence.

In 2027, we want to launch this program for the first time and we need your help to make it happen.

We have already raised $5,000. Now let’s match it; our goal is to raise $5,000 on AusArts Day. Every dollar will help us build networks and pathways for First Nations arts workers for a strong, culturally safe and self-determined live performance sector.

💡 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: MADISON WALKER FROM CANBERRA THEATRE CENTRE 💡

We are proud to feature the work done by our PAC Australia members from across the country. Today we’re shining a spotlight on Canberra Theatre Centre and their Technician Madison Walker.

We asked Madison a few questions about her work at the centre and her hacks for getting the job done.

Q: What’s your best work hack?

⭐️ Always keep a three-metre tape measure on you. It’s big enough for most things and you can tell a lot about someone by their reaction to being handed a tiny tape measure.

Q: What makes your venue special?

⭐️ Our technical team make Canberra Theatre Centre special. Everyone is passionate about theatre and truly puts their love and care into each production. We are a tight-knit crew and try to make each touring company feel like they are a part of it.

Expressions of interest have opened for venues or organisations interested in hosting APAX in 2027, 2028 or 2029. Submissions due by Monday, 26 October 2026.

🚨 PAC Australia Board Nominations Close TOMORROW 🚨

PAC Australia are calling for nominations to our Board and we are seeking a strong, diverse field of candidates to continue to strengthen our skills-based board representation.

We are specifically hoping to hear from individuals with a background in finance, governance, human resources, legal or fundraising/development — candidates need not come from within the sector to bring these skills. Growing the diversity of our Board is a priority too, and we particularly welcome nominations from people who identify as CALD or CARM, and from First Nations candidates.

To nominate, please complete this form noting you must seek PAC Australia members to officially nominate and second your submission.

If you don’t meet the above candidate requirements, but there is a superstar on your team who'd be a great fit, please also encourage them to put their hand up.

APAX comes to an end for another year and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you.

Thank you to all our speakers, pitching artists and producers, our homes for the week of QPAC, Queensland Theatre Company, Metro Arts, The West End Electric and to our wonderful APAX partners: Maxwood Technology Australia, d&b audiotechnik, Schuler Shook, Charcoalblue, Vivaticket, Yamaha Music Australia, Hours After Design, Barking Gecko Arts, The Hey Mate Project and Brisbane Festival.

Thank you to our travel bursary supporters who helped to send delegates to APAX: Arts Queensland CreateSA, Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, Arts Tasmania, CircuitWest and Creative Australia.
