The Last Great Hunt develops, presents and tours ambitious and original theatrical experiences created in Perth, Western Australia. At the centre are six artists and makers: Gita Bezard, Adriane Daff, Arielle Gray, Chris Isaacs, Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Tim Watts. We spend time developing and discovering; we hunt for new ideas and new ways of connecting with our expanding audiences across Australia

and the world. We empower our Core Artists and collaborators to freely develop and apply their diverse range of skills to make high quality, rigorous, relevant and entertaining original shows. We invite our audience to experience an engaging, challenging and moving night out at the theatre. Our work features an eclectic variety of forms, styles and experiences and includes award-winning and wide touring shows such as FAG/STAG, BALI, LÉ NØR [THE RAIN], THE ADVISORS, BITE THE HAND, IT’S DARK OUTSIDE, BRUCE, NEW OWNER, THE IRRESISTIBLE and PRICE TAG.

January 26 is not a day of celebration. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it marks the beginning of invasion and colonisation. It is a day of mourning for lives lost, cultures disrupted, languages silenced, and ongoing dispossession from Country.

At The Last Great Hunt, we will be working on 26 January. We don’t take the public holiday in recognition that this date carries deep and enduring pain for First Nations communities. Instead, we stand in solidarity. We are committed to listening, to learning, and to supporting calls for truth-telling, justice, and self-determination.

This is not a gesture, but an ongoing commitment. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded, and that our responsibility as artists and citizens is to keep showing up with care, humility, and action.
