Revelation Film Festival Revelation maintains its focus on progressive and inspiring works and embraces audiences of all ages, tastes and backgrounds.

Since 1997, the event has developed from a range of alternative and independent screen culture activities and experiments to what is regarded as one of Australia's most unique annual screen activities. Taking place in cinemas, bars and clubs around the country this strange brew embraced live music, performance, movies and all manner of strange and unusual activities. Programmed as part of the Aust

ralian film festival season, Revelation actively interacts where possible with the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand International Film Festivals and a range of Australian screen culture organisations with program and print sources and curated projects and guests and as a result fills the gap in the development of a truly national independent screen community. Like the films it presents, the event maintains energy and enthusiasm for the industry quite unlike any other film festival in the country.

Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2026 is officially wrapped, and what an incredible 12 days it has been.

From unforgettable screenings and packed cinemas to inspiring conversations, industry events, the WA Screen Culture Awards and countless moments shared with our amazing community, this year's festival was one for the books.

As Festival Director Richard Sowada puts it:
"2026 was a massive year for the fest! Most films sent, most films screened, 3 major events and sell out houses from go to whoa! It was really something for us with the audience numbers, for audiences with the quality of films and for the industry with our free professional development day and the WA Screen Culture Awards. It absolutely delivered…but boy are we wrecked!"

To everyone who bought a ticket, attended a Q&A, supported our partners, volunteered, made films, partnered with us, and helped bring Revelation 2026 to life - thank you. Your passion for cinema is what makes this festival so special.
