We have such a talented team here at DCA
Join our EO, Alyson Evans, as she guides you on a Journey around the world.

The Journey
A writers festival fills us with stories and ideas to point us on our way. But to embark on the journey to bring these ideas into the world, we need to take the first step together. In this fun, interactive session, we’ll come together across roundtables for a facilitated session to find our fellow travellers and map out where we want to go. Facilitated by Alyson Evans

Travers Street Theatre - Darwin Community Arts

Fusion Is Expression is a three-part workshop series created by acclaimed Choreographer Balla Neba for DCA. Over three weeks, participants are invited into an energetic and collaborative space where movement becomes a form of storytelling and cultural connection. The program blends contemporary dance, hip-hop and cultural fusion, offering a window into Balla Neba's distinctive approach and the deeper meanings behind his work. Each session is carefully crafted to foster both individual growth and group connection. Participants will not only learn new techniques and choreography, but will also explore the roots and philosophies that inspire Balla's practice. Whether you come with years of dance experience or simply a curiosity for creative expression, Fusion Is Expression welcomes you as you are.

This workshop series is developed for adult participants at any stage of experience.

Balla Neba is a Wakka Wakka and Gungulu man from Central Queensland, now calling Larrakia home; and is one of the country's most sought-after choreographers and performing artists. Neba completed his training at both ACPA and NAISDA over fifteen years ago; and he is a protocol-driven creative whose work is rooted in culture, identity, truth-telling and artistic excellence. He is best known for his distinctive blend of traditional, contemporary and hip-hop fusion choreographic styles.
