Larrakia Nation welcomes the Northern Territory Government's announcement to introduce public monitoring of industrial air pollutants across the Darwin airshed.

As the Traditional Owners of the Darwin region, Larrakia people have a strong interest in ensuring the health of their people, their harbour and their Country.

Greater transparency and independent monitoring are important steps towards building community confidence and ensuring environmental accountability.

Larrakia Nation looks forward to reviewing the proposed legislation and advocates for Traditional Owners to have a meaningful role in the monitoring, reporting and protection of environmental values on Larrakia Country.

Healthy Country means healthy people, healthy communities and a sustainable future for generations to come.
