Throwback Thursday takes us back to one of the classics - Beach Flags! 🚩

Beach Flags have become an iconic part of Surf Life Saving culture, combining skills that are valued in every lifesaver:

⚡ Reaction speed – responding instantly to a signal
🏃 Acceleration – getting moving quickly from a stationary position
🔄 Agility – changing direction and positioning to reach the flag
🤝 Competition & camaraderie – racing alongside your fellow members
🏖️ Beach skills – moving quickly and efficiently through the sand

Could your club use a new IRB? 🚨

Surf Life Saving Australia, with the support of Ampol Australia , is giving 12 Surf Life Saving Clubs the chance to receive a brand new Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) hull to help strengthen lifesaving operations this season.

To enter, simply tell SLSA in 100 words or less why your club deserves a new IRB hull.

Happy World Helicopter Day 🚁

Today, we celebrate the incredible Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Services, which provide critical support during rescues, emergencies and search operations across Australia, including helping to keep our coastline safe.

A huge thank you to Westpac for more than 52 years of partnership and support for lifesaving, and to all crew members, engineers and teams whose dedication helps save lives every day.

SAY WHAT?! Our Surf & Survive community program has made it to the big screen - and now we’re famous in Japan! 🌊

Yes, you heard right! A few weeks ago, we were excited to help the NHK Sydney team as they put together a story highlighting water safety in Australia.

NHK WORLD-JAPAN is the international service of Japan’s public media organisation, NHK, sharing the latest news and information about Japan and Asia with a global audience through television, radio and online.

A huge shout-out to all our amazing staff and volunteers who took part, and to all the parents and kids who generously shared their experiences and what they’ve learned in our community program with NHK WORLD-JAPAN.

We’re incredibly proud to see the Surf & Survive program helping share the importance of water safety - all the way to Japan!
