Today is World Teachers' Day, a day to celebrate the invaluable role of teachers in our schools and communities, while also reflecting on what is needed to support teachers to do their important work.

We believe that exceptional teachers deserve exceptional learning spaces. But funding for public school buildings hasn’t kept pace with demand.

That's why this World Teachers' Day needs to be more than just acknowledging teachers - we need governments to provide teachers with the facilities and infrastructure to deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs for all students across the nation.

Darwin is hosting the Tournament of Minds International Final (TIF) this week, and the organisers have asked AEU members to help out. It's a great chance to support some of the brightest young problem solvers in the region.

Tournament of Minds is a problem solving program for teams of students. TOM aims to enhance the potential of our youth by developing diverse skills, enterprise, time management, and the discipline to work collaboratively within a competitive environment.
