Sick of the spin? So are we!

That's why we're running a full-page advertisement in the NT News this week to set the record straight on fracking and the risks to our water.

Despite the spin about keeping the lights on, the reality is that fracking is propped up by huge amounts of our money, secret deals behind closed doors, and inflated job figures.

Supporting ECNT means we can keep standing up for the Top End.

We’ve been so inspired by the community momentum that’s building to protect the Top End from fracking.

On the weekend, we saw Territorians take a stand, putting up hundreds of ‘ban fracking, protect the Top End’ signs on fences across Darwin and Palmerston, with hundreds more to come.

Today we stood alongside community members protesting gas executives flying into Darwin for NT Resources Week, sending a message that our community says no to fracking and the Middle Arm gas and petrochemical hub.

Shout out to Larrakia Elder Uncle Richard Fejo for his words about the need for everyone to stand together to protect the Territory from the gas lobby.

Let’s keep going. www.banfracking.au

Don't believe the hype. Despite the glossy banners all over town, it's everyday Territorians that will foot the bill for fracking.

Since the fracking ban was lifted in 2018, successive NT governments have spent approximately $485 million in taxpayer subsidies on the gas industry.

ECNT identified $2 billion in subsidies and liabilities for the gas industry hidden in the most recent NT budget.

The Territory is billions of dollars in debt, and fracking is a risky gamble we cannot afford.

Hundreds of ban fracking signs went up on fences across the NT on Saturday, and the ABC was there to capture it.

With the next wave of fracking closing in, our community is rallying to show we don’t want our water and climate put at risk for gas export profits.

American “shale cowboys” (translation: oil and gas billionaires) are swooping into frack the Northern Territory– like it’s some kind of US “frontier success story” - what could go wrong!?

We’re already being taken for a ride by the gas industry - we shouldn't foot the bill for fracking.

Sign the petition to call on the Albanese Government to say no to subsidies for fracking and send a message that Territorians don’t want more government handouts to an industry already refusing to pay its fair share.
