Worcester Green Corps 2025 In the Bag

What a year for Worcester Green Corps. Our community showed up in every season and every neighborhood, and the impact speaks for itself. Together, we worked with 295 volunteers, collected 953 bags of litter, hosted 13 group events, and removed 8,604 pounds of litter across the city.

A few group cleanups stood out this year:
1️⃣ Earth Day Cleanup with ipickupworcesterlitterverywell, Green Team Junk Removal, the WooSox Foundation, and The Canal District – 800 lbs
2️⃣ University Park Campus School Cleanup with Worcester Public Schools - Worcester, MA – 550 lbs
3️⃣ D4 Pleasant St. Cleanup with Councilor Luis Ojeda – 480 lbs
4️⃣ Canal District Cleanup with the WooSox and CRLS – 375 lbs
5️⃣ Green Island Cleanup with the Green Island Neighborhood Group – 350 lbs

Thank you to every volunteer, partner, and neighbor who helped make Worcester cleaner and greener in 2025.

That was 2025. Ready for 2026?

The holidays are here, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate in ways that care for our community and the planet. 💙🌱

🎁 Wrap it Wisely: Use reusable wrapping paper, fabric, or recycled materials.
🎄 Choose Thoughtful Gifts: Give experiences, handmade items, or local goods that last.
🥶 Bundle Up Indoors: Turn the thermostat down a bit and cozy up in layers.
🚗 Travel Smart: Carpool to gatherings, combine errands, or pack light if you’re flying to cut down on emissions.

On Sunday, November 9, we joined Green Team Junk Removal and National Grid for a community recycling drive and energy-saving event at Notre Dame Academy - Worcester. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., residents dropped off old dehumidifiers for a $30 rebate and recycled electronics, appliances, and more.

With over 100 cars participating, this event proved that small actions can make a big impact toward a cleaner, greener Worcester.
