O is for Opportunities! ✨

At Girls Inc. of Worcester, girls gain more than fun memories and lifelong friendships. They are given opportunities to build leadership skills, learn practical life skills, explore future careers, and discover what they are capable of.

Through programs such as She Leads, Project Accelerate, and Eureka!, high school and college-aged participants can access summer internship opportunities that help them gain real-world experience, build professional confidence, and take meaningful steps toward their futures.

We are always working to expand these opportunities for girls and young women across Worcester and MetroWest.

Your gift of any size can help support internship stipends, career exploration, mentorship, and other experiences that prepare participants to lead and succeed.

N is for Non-Violence!💜

Today, we’re highlighting four Girls Inc. of Worcester programs that help girls build the skills, confidence, and support systems needed to create safer communities:

Girls Promoting Safety (GPS) and Girls Unified (GU) serve middle school girls in Worcester and Spencer, respectively. At our Providence Street location, we host Girls in Nature (GIN) and She Leads, which is offered in partnership with the Worcester Police Department and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

Across these programs, girls learn how to recognize healthy and unhealthy relationships, manage conflict, strengthen personal safety skills, develop leadership abilities, and make informed decisions.

Through She Leads, teenage girls participate in monthly Briefing Room workshops, where they explore investigative skills, learn about careers in public safety and justice, and discuss real-world issues that can affect girls their age.

We are grateful to the Women’s Initiative for supporting GPS, GIN, and GU, and to the City of Worcester’s Shannon Community Safety Initiative for supporting She Leads.

Want to learn more about these programs? Contact our Associate Director of Career Pathways, Nekel May, at [email protected].

Your support helps us continue providing girls with trusted mentors, safe spaces, and programs that teach them how to advocate for themselves and others. Make a gift today toward our $10,000 summer fundraising goal through the link in our bio.

We are excited to announce that, for the first time this summer, Girls Inc. of Worcester will serve as an open meal site for children in our community!

From June 29 through August 14, we will provide free breakfast to any child in the City of Worcester at our Providence Street location. Children will also have a welcoming space inside Girls Inc. where they can sit and enjoy their meal.

This new initiative is part of our broader commitment to supporting Worcester families, strengthening our community, and helping increase access to nutritious food.

More details, including serving times, will be shared soon. For additional information, please contact Daun Morales at [email protected].

L is for Learning! 📚💡

STEM is always more fun when you get to learn by doing!

Learning is at the foundation of what we do at Girls Inc. of Worcester. Through hands-on experiences, our participants explore leadership, confidence, STEM, wellness, financial literacy, and everything in between.

We also love welcoming community partners who help expand these learning opportunities and introduce girls to new skills, experiences, careers, and possibilities.

Recently, we welcomed Boston Scientific for an exciting hands-on STEM demonstration featuring interactive STEAM kits. Our girls had the opportunity to experiment, ask questions, and discover how science and technology connect to real careers and everyday life.

A huge thank-you to for sharing your time and expertise with us and helping inspire the next generation of girls in STEM!

You, too, can support our learning initiatives by making a gift toward our $10,000 summer fundraising goal. Your support helps us provide hands-on experiences, trusted mentors, enriching programs, and new opportunities that help girls explore their interests, build confidence, and imagine what is possible. K is for Kinneywood!🌲✨

Today’s A to Z Countdown to Summer spotlight takes us outdoors to Camp Kinneywood, where nature meets discovery!

At Camp Kinneywood, campers ages 6–12 spend the summer immersed in nature through outdoor adventures, hands-on STEM projects, swimming, boating, hiking, arts and crafts, literacy, and daily social-emotional learning.

Set by a serene lake and surrounded by forest, Camp Kinneywood gives girls the chance to explore, try new things, build confidence, and create lasting memories in a fun and supportive environment.

With support from trained staff and an on-site clinical intern, campers are encouraged to build community, reflect on their experiences, and grow strong, smart, and bold in the wild. J is for JV — Eureka! JV, that is!💡✨

Today’s A to Z Countdown to Summer spotlight is all about helping girls discover STEM, leadership, wellness, and confidence early.

Eureka! JV can be thought of as the “kickstart” to the Eureka! program, introducing girls in grades 5–7 to the world of STEM through hands-on activities, mentorship, leadership development, social media etiquette, and health and wellness programming.

Throughout the program, participants connect with professional women in STEM, explore new interests, build confidence, and gain skills that help prepare them for future opportunities (including special consideration during the Eureka! application process upon completion of the Eureka! JV program).

Thank you to The Links Incorporated for providing program support and helping make opportunities like Eureka! JV possible. Learn more about The Links here: https://linksinc.org/ #

I is for InnovateHER! 💡✨

At Girls Inc. of Worcester, Camp InnovateHER empowers girls to explore STEM, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lifelong memories in a fun and supportive environment.

Throughout the summer, participants take part in activities like gardening, swimming, team sports, hands-on learning, and collaborative challenges that help them explore their creativity, strengthen their confidence, and build meaningful connections with one another.

Camp InnovateHER gives girls the space to try new things, ask questions, solve problems, and see themselves as leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

I is also for investing in her future! You can help us continue offering impactful programs like Camp InnovateHER and even send a girl to camp by making a gift toward our summer fundraising goal. Every donation brings us closer to ensuring girls have access to opportunities that inspire them to be strong, smart, and bold all summer long.
