What an incredible day at our 21st Annual Stand Down here on Grove Street!

What began as a single day of service has now impacted more than 12,000 veterans and their families over the years.

Thanks to every provider, volunteer, sponsor, staff member, and community partner, we welcomed more veterans than ever before and made another successful Stand Down possible.

Most importantly, thank you to the veterans and families who trusted us to be part of your journey.

We are proud of what we accomplished together and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving those who served.

Thank you to Spectrum for being our lead sponsor!

A huge thank you to the incredible team from Boston Scientific for volunteering their time to help assemble military surplus bags for veterans ahead of our Stand Down on June 12.

Together, they packed more than 300 military surplus bags that will be distributed to veterans attending Stand Down, helping ensure they receive essential supplies and support as they connect with life-changing resources and services.

Thank you for standing with veterans and helping make this year’s Stand Down possible!

Celebrating one of our own.

We're proud to share that Ray Carville, our Senior Manager of Public Affairs, was awarded the 2026 Unsung Hero Award at the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. last week.

As a U.S. Army veteran himself, Ray embodies what drives this organization every day: veterans helping veterans. Ray's advocacy and outreach help secure support for our programs, ensuring the case managers, counselors, recovery specialists, employment specialists, and housing staff behind our mission have what they need to serve the veterans and families who count on us. From emergency shelter and permanent housing to job training, behavioral health, and family services, our team works across New England, Montana, and North Dakota to make sure no veteran has to face adversity alone.

Ray is a service‑connected combat veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the intelligence field. That experience informs everything he does: he understands both the culture of military service and the complex challenges veterans face when they return home. Ray’s leadership is also recognized at the state level through his appointment to the Governor’s Advisory Council to End Veteran Homelessness, where he contributes his frontline insight and strategic perspective to statewide efforts to reduce and ultimately end veteran homelessness. In that role, he serves as a bridge between policymakers and providers, ensuring that the real‑world experiences of veterans and service organizations inform systems‑level decisions.

Congratulations, Ray. From all of us at Veterans Inc. Thank you, and well deserved.

Veterans Inc. proudly offers services in Montana. No matter where a Veteran’s journey takes them, support should be within reach.

"I think that's probably one of the most favorite components of this line of work is how rewarding it can be," Greg Norgaard, SSVF Program Manager for Veterans Inc., Missoula, Montana.

Army veteran Daniel Vicovan spent months at the Poverello Center before receiving help from local organizations that helped him secure permanent housing.
