Celebrating one of our own.
We're proud to share that Ray Carville, our Senior Manager of Public Affairs, was awarded the 2026 Unsung Hero Award at the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. last week.
As a U.S. Army veteran himself, Ray embodies what drives this organization every day: veterans helping veterans. Ray's advocacy and outreach help secure support for our programs, ensuring the case managers, counselors, recovery specialists, employment specialists, and housing staff behind our mission have what they need to serve the veterans and families who count on us. From emergency shelter and permanent housing to job training, behavioral health, and family services, our team works across New England, Montana, and North Dakota to make sure no veteran has to face adversity alone.
Ray is a service‑connected combat veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the intelligence field. That experience informs everything he does: he understands both the culture of military service and the complex challenges veterans face when they return home. Ray’s leadership is also recognized at the state level through his appointment to the Governor’s Advisory Council to End Veteran Homelessness, where he contributes his frontline insight and strategic perspective to statewide efforts to reduce and ultimately end veteran homelessness. In that role, he serves as a bridge between policymakers and providers, ensuring that the real‑world experiences of veterans and service organizations inform systems‑level decisions.
Congratulations, Ray. From all of us at Veterans Inc. Thank you, and well deserved.
