Three years ago, we set out to create a simple solution: connect surplus furniture and household items with individuals and families who could truly benefit from them. Today, we're proud to see the difference that mission continues to make.

This year, we worked through heat, rain, and even the relocation of our DCH space—and still achieved one of our most impactful seasons yet.

Together, we nearly tripled the amount of furniture and household goods collected, reaching an estimated 5,000 pounds!!

But the real impact isn't measured in pounds collected—it's measured in the lives touched. These items help our clients create comfortable homes, furnish apartments after major life transitions, and access necessities they may not otherwise be able to afford.

None of this would be possible without our university partners, who believe in strengthening our community through action.

We’re lucky to live in a city filled with amazing universities, and we’re so grateful to have partnered with Worcester State University again for our 3rd year of spring move-outs!

These partnerships continue to strengthen our community while helping us reach students from all over the country. Together, we’re giving items a second home with local families instead of sending them to the landfill.

A huge thank you to everyone helping make this program grow year after year.

The rain didn’t stop us from making pickups at Holy Cross last week!

We are so appreciative of their continued partnership and hard work again this year. The collections have been amazing so far, and we’re grateful for everyone involved in helping make a difference.

Every donation collected means more items staying out of landfills and finding new homes throughout our community.

We are deeply saddened to share that this week we lost an extraordinary member of our team. Jessica Cox Valade who was part of the fabric of CMHA: The Housing Alliance. She served the community through her work for the past 22 years. She played many different roles as she grew with the organization, ultimately leading to Vice President of Operations.

Her colleagues that had the honor of working with her over the years remember that she always wore a giant smile on her face and that smile was infectious. She simply exuded joy. Her door was always open to those in need. Jess will be sorely missed.

This year the WALK to End Homlessness will be dedicated to Jess as she looked forward to the Walk every year.

We pick up for free in the Worcester County area. Once we schedule a pickup time with you, we kindly ask that the items are on the first-floor level or placed outside in a driveway or garage for pickup.

We're moving!

We will be in our new and improved space starting April 18th!

It will be a week long move for us. So please be aware, that we will not be able to offer pickup and or deliveries that week. But we will be back in action once we are settled in.
