Our August Bach & Brews was also a great time, featuring a reunion for the Peridot Quartet, a performance by wife-and-husband duo Rachel Villareale and Chris Johnson, and Chastity Pawloski's Bach & Brews debut on piccolo.

Beethoven & Beer was on our 4 year anniversary! I can't believe I forgot to say so at the event.

Four years ago, we had our first Classical Revolution ICT event at R Coffee House in Wichita.

Since then, we've featured around 150 musicians in 60 events in 3 different cities and 5 venues.

Thank you for being a part of Classical Revolution ICT and our vision of a new way to engage with classical music and community.

We asked Honey Bee Brass some important questions.

Like: What beverage is your instrument?

The answers ranged from dry realism: "Any German Stout, as I play a German instrument"

To the colorful: "Ciderboys Strawberry Magic because the trumpet can be a sweet and magical instrument or it can knock you on your butt if you let it"

To the all-inclusive: "Every kind of beer combined into one. The tuba is the musical instrument version of beer."

So, clearly, Honey Bee Brass has some personalities.

And we're betting that same energy will make for a pretty great performance.

I Never Saw Another Butterfly... Sounds cute, right?

It isn't quite what you might expect.

Hannah Cutter and Alex Johnson will bring this powerful duet to Beethoven & Beer on August 25, pairing voice and bassoon for an emotional journey of poetry and music.

Composer Lori Laitman drew on poetry written by children imprisoned in the Terezín concentration camp during the Holocaust. Their words hold onto hope, wonder, fear, and the startling honesty of childhood in circumstances no child should have had to endure.

It's a reminder of the extraordinary things people can hold onto, even in the darkest circumstances.

And Beethoven & Beer won't be all quite so serious. They'll be joined by Scottish fiddler Meredith Hopkins and the Honey Bee Brass Quintet.

Did you know we have a National Scottish Fiddle Champion...in Kansas? 🤯

Meredith Hopkins studied in Scotland for two years to get her masters in Scottish Music...and she's also a National Scottish Fiddle Champion!

At Beethoven & Beer on August 25, she wilI play fiddle tunes in the Scottish style and tell fun stories about the tunes and the history of the Scottish music. You'll hear some beautiful slow tunes, jigs, reels and strathspeys!

Peridot Quartet is reuniting for their first performance together since graduating—and they're bringing music by David Lang, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Prokofiev to Bach & Brews.

Featuring: Sage Rosales and Addison Wegerle, violin, Joseph Schmitt, viola and Daijana Wallace, cello

Some musical friendships apparently have a very long intermission.
Catch them on Thursday, August 13 at Tor Brewing for Bach & Brews , 7-8:30 pm.
