Youth Horizons mentors and protégés recently gathered at "The Arcade" in downtown Wichita to enjoy some retro video games!

It was a great time filled with fun and laughs! Thank you to all of our matches who came out!

If you would like to help make future mentoring events possible, please consider becoming an event sponsor!

Your generosity helps create fun, meaningful experiences that strengthen mentor-protégé relationships and encourage youth to thrive.

What a blessing to spend time with pastors and ministry leaders from across Wichita at the Greater Wichita Ministerial League meeting today at St. Paul AME.Church. President and CEO Robert Garner shared an overview and ways to get involved.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share how God is working through Youth Horizons and how local churches are helping change the lives of youth through mentoring, residential care, and community support. We are thankful for every church partner that stands with us as we serve young people and families in our community.

If you want Youth Horizons to come speak to your church, ministry group, Sunday School class, or small group about mentoring, volunteer opportunities, or the needs of youth in our community, we'd love to connect with you. Contact Carrie Crow at [email protected]

Seven-year-old Harper is all in when it comes to staying active and creative — she loves gymnastics, soccer and crafts!

Harper is energetic, fun-loving, and full of imagination.

But beyond the gym and craft table, Harper is looking for a mentor who can do more than just watch her create and play.

She wants someone who will show up and be there for her.

Could that be you? Join us for our next Mentor Advocate Training to find out.

Big congratulations to Zyaire Robinson!

The Kansas Literary Festival recently spotlighted one of our own proteges, Zyaire, who wrote and produced his very first book. That's an incredible milestone for a young author.

Zyaire joined a group of talented young writers to present their books and sign autographs for festival attendees.

We're so grateful to the Kansas Literary Festival for championing literacy and giving young voices like Zyaire's a stage to shine.

Way to go, Zyaire! We're proud of you!

Youth Horizons runs because of the people behind the scenes: mentors, residential staff, family advocates, and every team member showing up for kids and families every day.

This year, we gave that appreciation a brand new space to shine.

We hosted our first-ever Staff Appreciation Luncheon at Chicken N Pickle to celebrate every YH employee, with an extra thank you to residential staff coming off a demanding summer.

The afternoon included:
🏆 Years-of-service recognition, including Kristie Reilly's incredible 11-year milestone
💌 Encouragement cards filled with messages from coworkers and youth
🎥 Videos of Wren and KPBR residents sharing what they love about their staff
🎁 Door prizes and team shoutouts from leadership
🏓 Pickleball, yard games, and good conversation to close out the day

Because when our staff feel valued, our kids and families feel it too. Thanks to all of our team members who show up and stand out for our kids and their families every day!

Youth Horizons is so happy to see Raevyn’s wish come true! She’s a brave, amazing young woman who has been a protege in our mentor program.

Thanks to Make A Wish and the amazing community partners who made this day possible for Raevyn!

We are grateful for good friends like Jacob Matlock and the team at Home Buyers.

So far this year, they’ve donated $21,000 to Youth Horizons, already reaching 60 percent of their $35,000 goal for the year.

That’s a remarkable commitment to the kids and families we serve through mentoring and residential foster care services.

Their generosity helps us provide young people with caring adults, safe places, strong relationships and opportunities for a better future.

We’re also grateful for what their support says about the Wichita area community.

Local businesses can do more than create jobs and contribute to our economy. They can help take care of their neighbors and strengthen the communities they call home.

Jacob and the Pillar Home Buyers team, thank you for choosing Youth Horizons and believing in our kids and our mission.

We appreciate you. And we’re cheering you on toward $35,000!
