New match alert! 🎉

One great mentor leads to another. That's just how it works sometimes.

Dylan and Kas are officially matched! Dylan met Kas through his friend Sam Hudson, who had previously mentored Kas himself.

Kas is 10, goes to Irving Elementary, and joins siblings Kai and Kalla who are also matched through River Community Church.

Meet Gayle and Aaliyah, our newest match! 🎉

Gayle attends Cornerstone Bible Church and Aaliyah is a 9-year-old at Washington Elementary, where the two will meet during lunch and recess.

Please keep Aaliyah in your prayers as she prepares for an upcoming tonsil surgery and Gayle is already making plans. She has a get well card headed to the mailbox!

That's mentoring in a nutshell...showing up in all the small ways that add up to something big.

Our partners make this mission possible! 💪

A huge thank you to the five incredible volunteers from River Community Church and F3 Wichita who rolled up their sleeves at Kinloch Price Boys Ranch.

This dedicated group tackled tree stumps, removed wire fencing, and cleared out a stubborn hedge row and they didn't stop until the job was done.

The result? A full trailer load of wire and thorny hedge branches hauled away and a major chunk of work off the books. 🎉

We are so grateful for partners who truly care and show up. 🤝

Twelve-year-old Elijah is an explorer at heart. Whether he's discovering wildlife, strategizing over board games, or camping under the stars, Elijah brings curiosity and enthusiasm to everything he does.

He's the kind of kid who loves being outdoors and connecting with the world around him.

Elijah is looking for a mentor who shares his sense of adventure and wonder. Someone who will spend quality time with him, encourage his interests, and be a steady, caring presence as he grows.

🎉 We have a NEW MATCH to celebrate!

We are so excited to introduce Versena & Shiya — the newest mentoring pair in the Youth Horizons family! 💛

Versena is a dedicated member of our Youth Horizons staff who has served at Wren House for over a year. She is also a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church, and her heart for young people shines in everything she does.

Shiya is a student at West High School and one of seven incredible siblings — five of whom also have mentors through Youth Horizons! Talk about a family that believes in the power of mentorship! 🙌

This new match connected through our Getting Ahead Program, and we can't wait to see what this friendship grows into!

🇺🇸 Happy Memorial Day from Youth Horizons!

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice.

Please note that our downtown office is closed today in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 26th, resuming our normal business hours.

Youth Horizons was honored to join the Wichita Independent Business Association (WIBA) today for its monthly luncheon as a guest of President/CEO Wendell Funk.

We’re excited about becoming part of WIBA and view this membership as an important opportunity to strengthen partnerships, expand awareness of our mission, and advocate for youth and families in our community.

Youth Horizons looks forward to sharing more about our ministry work in youth mentoring and foster care residential programs while building relationships with fellow business and community leaders committed to making Wichita stronger.
