Meet Sam Cline and Hazaiah, our newest match in the Lunch Buddy school-based mentoring program!

Sam is 20 years old and attends River Community Church. Hazaiah is 10 years old and in 5th grade.

These two are already looking forward to reading the Bible together during their lunch visits.

A couple of hours a week, being yourself, having fun - that's how you can make a life-long impact on a child.

We enjoyed a wonderful morning of worship and fellowship a recent weekend with our friends at Family Church, where we had an opportunity to share an update on the ministry of Youth Horizons, including our youth mentoring program, residential foster care and family advocacy work.

Pastor Boone Baker, his wife Debbie and the entire congregation made us feel right at home. We are especially grateful for Family Church’s intentional and faithful support of Youth Horizons over the decades. Partnerships like these have helped us serve young people and families throughout our community, and we don’t take that commitment for granted.

We also appreciate every opportunity to tell the Youth Horizons story, answer questions and expand the circle of caring adults committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

One hour of your time can make a big difference in the life a child.

Lunch Buddy Mentors meet with students at their school once a week over lunch.

Having a caring adult come to their school and spend some one-on-one time at lunch can build confidence, support their academic success and improve their social skills.
