The pot is growing every day between now and Cookoff Day (Sept 26th). One lucky winner takes home 50% of the cash, and the other 50% goes straight to our Good Life Grants.

Last year, the Parrot Heads brought home 1st place in our Chili for Charity category, but they took home more than just a trophy. 🏆🌶️

Their win helped bring $1,000 back to their nonprofit, showing that a little chili can make a big impact.

They weren’t the only ones bringing the flavor, though. Central Mechanic Wichita, East YMCA Mens Group, Dominion Ministries and Wichita Festivals Inc. (WFI) all battled it out last year.

👟 Comfortable shoes (there's lots of chili to taste)
🕶️ Sunglasses (because chili tasting is a serious sport)
💧 A water bottle (drinks are available, but it's always good to have a backup)
😋 Your appetite (this one is non-negotiable)

The Potentate is a very important role at the Chili Cookoff. They're the ambassador of Good Times and have the honor of bestowing the coveted Spirit Award on the team of their choosing. 🏆
