When Shaista and her family joined Feast in 2022, she was a stay-at-home mother raising five children. She had never worked outside the home or attended school, and navigating opportunities in a new country felt overwhelming.

What many people didn’t see was the incredible experience she already had. For years, Shaista had managed a busy household and cooked daily for her large family. She simply needed a chance to turn those skills into opportunities.

Shaista took that chance. She started cooking in our restaurant while learning English and developing new skills. Through hard work, determination, and courage, she continued to grow year after year.

Today, just three years later, Shaista confidently leads a restaurant kitchen and has also secured a part-time job at Amazon. Her family’s financial situation is stronger than ever, and she has even been able to save enough money to help two of her children get married.

Her journey reminds us that talent, leadership, and resilience are often found in places many people overlook. We are proud of Shaista and honored to be part of her story.
