On Indigenous Peoples Day, from the lands of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, we honor the elders and people of the Spokane Tribe of Indians, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and members of other tribal nations throughout our region. Today, we announce the second round of grants from the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Funds for Eastern Washington and North Idaho. A total of $746,012 will go to 165 organizations that are on the front lines of the COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. Grants focused on childcare and youth, food assistance needs, support for immigrant and refugee communities, mental health resources and small business support.

Washington's cancer research endowment, the CARE Fund, has created new grants of up to approximately $100,000 each to support research that can be immediately implemented, at the intersection of COVID-19 and cancer.

The projects will focus on the impact of COVID-19 on outcomes, risks, or well-being for cancer patients. Washington state organizations, including local health jurisdictions, tribal governments, and tribal entities, are eligible to apply. Learn more below and pass along!

COVID-19 Response and Recovery Funds accepting applications through May 26!

Funding will be prioritized for organizations addressing the health and economic needs of those most likely to be disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, as well as for recovery efforts to ensure community resilience. Eligible organizations include nonprofit and grassroots organizations, tribal entities, schools and other government agencies can apply for funding by filling out a very brief online application.
