Kaiser Permanente hosted BAWSI middle school athletes from Ocala STEAM Academy at the Bay Area World Cup’s opening match, where they experienced firsthand how sports bring people together across cultures. The team described it as a day they will never forget⚽️💜

When girls see the world of sport up close, they begin to imagine new possibilities for themselves.

BAWSI is honored to partner with , , , and as part of She Plays On💜

She Plays On is a united initiative by Kaiser Permanente, the Golden State Valkyries and the Golden State Community Foundation designed to keep girls in sports and help them thrive in life. By addressing total health - mind, body and belonging - the program connects girls with local community resources, mentors, and specially trained coaches to ensure every young athlete has the access and confidence she needs to play on.

This partnership reflects what we know: when girls have access to sport and feel like they belong, they develop the confidence to lead both on and off the field.

Through this partnership, BAWSI is excited to bring our programs to middle schools in Oakland and San Francisco, creating new opportunities for girls to build confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong connections through sport.

Thank you to Kaiser Permanente, the Golden State Valkyries, and the Golden State Community Foundation for investing in the next generation of girls.
