Meet Pivotal’s newest Master of Social Work (MSW) interns! 💙

Our interns work alongside our Coaching team to support post-secondary scholars as they navigate college, explore careers, and build their lives.

From former scholars returning to give back to interns whose personal experiences inspired a commitment to equity, each brings a unique perspective and a passion for helping young people achieve their goals.

Join us in welcoming them to the Pivotal community! Visit our blog to learn more about the people behind this year’s cohort: https://na2.hubs.ly/H08njK60

There’s more than one path to a successful future! 🛠️🎓

Pivotal high school scholars recently visited San José City College to explore its vocational and career education programs and learn more about the hands-on pathways available after high school.

For many young people, including youth with experience in foster care, vocational programs can offer a direct route to earning industry credentials and preparing for an in-demand career. As more students explore options beyond the traditional four-year college path, we want our scholars to have the information and exposure they need to choose what’s right for them.

A big thank-you to SJCC NextUp/Guardian Scholars for welcoming our scholars and helping them see even more possibilities for their futures!

A technology upgrade can make a big difference in how our coaches show up for Pivotal scholars. 💻💜

Thanks to a generous grant from the Rotary Club of San Jose, Pivotal coaches received new laptops that are helping them stay connected and organized.

Hear directly from Pivotal coaches Ana and Heladia about the difference this investment has made in their day-to-day work: https://na2.hubs.ly/H082Stk0

Thank you, Rotary Club of San Jose, for investing in our team and the young people they support! 💜

It may officially feel like fall, but back-to-school season is just getting started at De Anza College! 🍂📚💜

Come along for another campus stop as Pivotal Coach Sarah Gentle shows us around De Anza and some of the s**ces and resources that help foster youth students feel supported throughout the year.

We’re grateful for Sarah and our campus partners for helping Pivotal scholars feel connected from day one.

Wishing our De Anza scholars a great start to the academic year! ✨

🌟Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! 🌟

This month offers a special opportunity to recognize the rich histories and lasting contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

At Pivotal, we’re proud to celebrate alongside the scholars, alumni, staff, families, and community members who enrich our work and our region every day. Nearly half of the young people we serve identify as Hispanic or Latino, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support their goals, learn from their experiences, and champion their futures. 💜✨

Come behind the scenes with Serena, Pivotal’s Development Associate, for another stop in our back-to-school season, this time at Mission College’s Welcome Week! ☀️📚💜

We joined Pivotal Coach Brian, who supports scholars on the Mission College campus, and spent time with the incredible NextUp team welcoming students back for a new academic year.

We also had the chance to pass out goodie bags packed by our friends at Enterprise Mobility. Thank you for helping us make the start of the semester a little more special for students!

Welcome Week is all about getting connected and finding community. We’re grateful to our campus and community partners for helping students in and from foster care start the year with people and resources in their corner.

Wishing our Mission College scholars (and students everywhere) a great semester ahead! ✨
