PICO California and the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPIC) are proud co-sponsors of AB 2465. No Taxpayer Dollars for Family Separation Act, authored by Assembly member Liz Ortega.

Private companies profiting from immigrant detention, deportation, and immigration enforcement are receiving millions in California taxpayer-funded subsidies, including tax breaks and state grants. These practices contribute to family separation, harm immigrant communities and create widespread fear across California.

AB 2465 is critical immigration reform legislation that will end public funding for detention corporations and ensure that state resources are not used to support family separation or harmful enforcement practices.

We believe all families are sacred. People of all faiths, backgrounds, and communities are uniting to demand immigrant justice, accountability, and humane immigration policies.
