🚨MN Half Price Books Workers are Organizing!🚨

“I’m choosing to unionize because I think that we as employees deserve to have our voices heard when it comes to our working conditions. We know our store’s needs more than policy-makers based in Texas,” said Kyle Riper, bookseller at Half Price Books Apple Valley.

Today, workers from Half Price Books in Apple Valley announced to their bosses that they have formed a Union and demanded Union recognition.

Half Price Books workers signed and submitted cards to the National Labor Relations Board to unionize with UFCW Local 663. They are fighting to secure higher wages, better staffing, and job protections.

🌇 On Friday, June 5 at sunset across the country, communities will gather to honor lives already lost to healthcare cuts — and the millions more at risk. June 5 also marks 45 years since the first reported cases of what became known as AIDS, a reminder of what happens when government fails to act.

Seven Days in June (www.sevendaysinjune.org/) is a decentralized, nonpartisan, grassroots-driven campaign aimed at focusing attention on how healthcare cuts are devastating local communities. 👉 While HR1, aka Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill", passed about a year ago, most of the worst Medicaid cuts are still ahead of us. We are standing together to make it clear: Healthcare is a governing priority!

The Seven Days in June campaign is endorsed by the AFL-CIO, UNITE HERE, SEIU, AFSCME, AFT, NNU, Pride at Work, and a number of advocacy organizations.

Withholding pay from workers is theft and it's a crime in Minnesota. If you steal from your employees, you will be caught and you will pay.

Stealing from workers is a crime. ❌

In 2020, Millennium Concrete, an Iowa-based subcontractor, learned a hard lesson about cutting corners.

They were forced to pay nearly $315,000 in back wages to 70 construction workers on a project in Thief River Falls.

Some workers received up to $11,000!

Workers stood together, filed complaints, and with LIUNA’s support, they won the pay they were owed.

Workers earn every dollar they make. When employers steal it, we make sure justice is served.

Across the state, reports have described restaurants losing significant revenue, cutting workers’ hours, and, in some cases, closing entirely.

Reporting on Operation Metro Surge (OMS) in Minnesota has focused on economic harm to several industries with large immigrant worker populations, including construction, child care, and agriculture. But one industry has appeared particularly hard hit: restaurants. Across the state, reports have desc...
