Hmong Early Childhood Coalition

Hmong Early Childhood Coalition Hmong Early Childhood Coalition (HECC) is a nonprofit based in the Twin Cities, MN.

Hmong Early Childhood Coalition (HECC) is a community-based, voluntary interagency team responsible for sharing research and evidence-based practices on early learning and education for parents, advocating for policy and systems change to benefit Hmong children, and bridging the gap between Hmong families and community services. Our History:
In 2006, a group of Hmong individuals launched the firs

t Hmong early childhood summit and continued to hold the summit annually for 8 years. The summit raised awareness and identified key advocates in support of early childhood education and the quality of care of young Hmong children. In2014, the coalition was created to create and provide opportunities to improve early childhood education in the Hmong community. Mission:
Empowering Hmong families to seek opportunities to ensure Hmong children have access to quality early childhood education

Vision:
For all Hmong families and children to succeed and thrive

What a wonderful day we had with our FFN families!

At our Fun in the Sun: Camping Basics event, families learned, explored, and connected through a nature walk, nature art, stories, and building shelters. We also reflected on how our ancestors lived and their connection to the land.

We’re grateful for time with our families, team, and partner Wilderness Inquiry.

Thank you iStrive families!

Thank you iStrive families!

On behalf of our entire iStrive family, thank you for trusting us with your children! We tried our best each year. This year was heartbreaking as we close our NHCC location, but our new home is at HOPE Community Academy in St. Paul.

Today was a reminder of how important each one of us have in reclaiming the HMong language, inspiring HMong youths to speak the HMong language. When parents speak HMoob at home, when educators do their best staying in the target language and when young leaders become role models in the classroom, magic happens.

Today’s showcase lunch was made possible by Auntie Sanida, Rocky’s Asian Bistro, and Thanh Vi. Cakes donated by Plua Yaaj. MN Zej Zog loves supporting small businesses to help them thrive.
