The SEIU MN State Council, bringing together over 70,000 workers across Minnesota, is proud to endorse three members of Congress from Minnesota for re-election this year. We are supporting Rep. Kelly Morrison, Congresswoman Betty McCollum & Rep. Ilhan Omar because when the Trump Administration and the GOP Congress passed almost $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, they helped lead the fightback to protect our care. They also stood with our communities when Operation Metro Surge caused chaos and death in the streets of Minnesota, rallying their colleagues to block any further funding for ICE. They have been a champions for workers and we can't wait to send them back to Congress to fight for good jobs, lower healthcare costs, to stand up to corruption and to make sure working families across Minnesota can thrive!

Working people are taking action for Seven Days in June, 6/1-6/7, to demand Congress stop cutting healthcare to fund ICE and tax breaks for billionaires. Join us in putting our elected officials on notice: invest in our communities, not cruelty, or risk losing your seat this November: seiu.co/7days

We're with Peggy because she fights every day for working people and to stand up the bullies who want to divide us so they can redirect even more of our money into their yachts and country clubs. We need a real champion to fill the shows of our outstanding current Senator Tina Smith (who also has endorsed Peggy!) and the choice is clear.

It was powerful to march with the community on Lake Street today.

The fight for good jobs, fair wages, and good working conditions for all continues - and I'm with you.

Health Unit Coordinators plan to strike on May 27 at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

STRIKE DATE SET: Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital to Start 3-Day ULP Strike on May 27th for Respect!

After 17 bargaining sessions and over 95% support to authorize a 3 day ULP strike, HUCs are standing together for a fair first contract, including wages, pension, retro pay, and differential pay.

HUCs are the backbone of the nursing unit. They keep care moving for patients, nurses, and providers every day. But management’s refusal to move on critical issues has left workers feeling devalued, undermined, and pushed out.

The next bargaining date is set for Friday.

Rep. Mike Nelson was the champion Minnesota home care workers needed in the House.

In 2013, he served as lead author of the historic bill that gave 27,000 consumer-directed home care workers the right to collectively bargain with the state. For generations, these workers had been sidelined, disrespected, and treated as invisible. Their campaign said it clearly: Invisible No More.

Because of Rep. Nelson’s steadfast leadership, home care workers won a union, doubled their minimum wage, secured paid time off, won holiday pay, and gained training opportunities that recognized home care as skilled, essential work.

His leadership changed lives, strengthened our union, and helped build a more just Minnesota. We are forever grateful.
Rest in Power Mike! 💜
