REAL girls are having a great success. Kabane, who graduated in information technology, after working for 4 years years, got overseas job and leaving for Greece on 1/8/26.

I am in Ethiopia to assist the graduates to carry forward the legacy of empowering young girls. I invite you to check our progress. Kim, REAL'S administrative volunteer is having a short visit with REAL girls.

I’m honored to share that we have successfully completed the Books for Africa Project, delivering $483,900 worth of books to schools and justice institutions across Ethiopia.

This shipment will support learning in multiple schools as well as the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia, the Federal Justice and Law Institute, and the Oromia Supreme Court—strengthening education, legal research, and access to knowledge.

This impact was made possible through the partnership of Resources Enriching African Lives (REAL), Books For Africa, Thomson Reuters, the Minneapolis University Rotary Club, and many generous donors and supporters.

Thank you to everyone who worked with us to make this vision a reality. Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia for taking the lead in facilitating the overall logistics, the Federal Justice and Institute for covering the cost of shipment from Djibouti to Addis, for Oromia Education Bureau, Addis Ababa Education Bureau, and Central Ethiopian Region Education Bureau for covering the cost of transportation fron Addis Ababa to the schools. My heart is full of Gratitude 🙏 We demonstrated that anything can be achieved when we are committed and collaborate.

🎉 REAL Celebrates 22 Inspiring Graduates! 🎓
October 18, 2025 – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Resources Enriching African Lives (REAL) proudly celebrated 22 remarkable girls who successfully completed 12th grade this year. The event marked not only their academic milestone but also their resilience and dedication throughout their journey with REAL.

Four top-performing students were specially recognized and received gifts from Ms. Tsehai Wodajo, Founder and Director of REAL. In her heartfelt remarks, Ms. Tsehai congratulated those who have joined universities, commended students who improved their scores, and encouraged those who did not pass to stay determined—reminding them that failure is not the end but a step toward fulfilling their purpose.

These 22 graduates join the ranks of more than 580 girls who have completed the REAL program and are now thriving in various professional careers. Nine proud alumni attended the celebration, sharing their stories of success, expressing gratitude to REAL, and pledging to continue its legacy of empowering young women.

The event was graced by Ato Wondwosen Terefe, representative of the Director General of the Ethiopian Diaspora Service, who congratulated the graduates and current students. He also highlighted the ongoing work of the Diaspora Services Directorate and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting REAL’s mission of advancing girls’ education and life success.

Students from Entoto and Burayu Kata added a special touch to the celebration by presenting farewell gifts and warm wishes to the graduates as they embark on their next chapter.

For over 21 years, REAL has been dedicated to the education and empowerment of disadvantaged girls across nine locations in Ethiopia—equipping them with the skills, confidence, and leadership to build brighter futures.

October 11th is International Day of The Girl. Join us to give a gift that no one can take away from her, EDUCATION. We sent 40ft container books through Books for Africa 11 years ago. We noted the difference it made for girls in our program. We are planning to ship books again to schools where our girls attend to benefit other girls and students.
