The professional employees of Lakeview Hospice, a branch of HealthPartners, have voted overwhelmingly to unionize with SEIU Healthcare MN & IA! RNs, Social Workers, Nurse Practitioners, Music Therapists, and Chaplains are joining a growing movement of hospice workers organizing for a stronger voice on the job.

Hospice workers stand beside patients and families through some of life’s hardest moments with compassion, skill, and dignity. Now they are standing together to fight for a contract that respects their work, values their expertise, and gives them the voice they deserve.

🎉 VICTORY AT THE VILLAS AT ROBBINSDALE!

Yesterday, members at the Villas at Robbinsdale voted to ratify their Tentative Agreement after standing strong through wage and benefit negotiations.
Key wins include:
• 2% wage increase for employees hired and placed on the wage scale with new CNAs now starting at $22.04/hour
• 2.15% wage increase for everyone hired before yesterday.
• ZERO concessions! The bargaining team successfully fought back every concession proposed by the Employer.

Great work by the incredible bargaining team: Gladys , Linda Jaka, Daejah and Koffi.
These leaders stood strong, stayed united, and fought for their coworkers every step of the way.This is what solidarity looks like.

It’s the end of an era!
After nearly 25 years of dedicated service, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota & Iowa Political Director Rick Varco is retiring.

When Rick began, many legislators responded to “SEIU Healthcare” with, “SEI-WHO?” Today, our union is several times larger, widely respected, and recognized as a powerful voice for healthcare workers and working families across Minnesota.
Rick played a central role in countless electoral and legislative victories helping move bills through committees, secure votes, elect labor champions, and build the political power of our members.

His legacy includes countless late nights, interrupted weekends, door knocks, phone banks, candidate screenings, and COPE drives.

Please join our Executive Board and staff in congratulating Rick on an extraordinary career and thanking him for his truly legendary service to our union and Minnesota’s working families.
