Between December 2025 and February 2026, our neighborhoods were occupied and terrorized by ICE. As the only organization working on deportation defense for Southeast Asians in Minnesota, our work became extremely crucial.

Minnesota is home to one of the largest Southeast Asian communities and MN8’s direct support caseload grew by 70% just within these three months, supporting over 100 Southeast Asian families. ✊

The fight is not over. Even though the administration says that they are ending operations in Minnesota, that does not reverse the harm inflicted or provide remedies to any of the impacts in our state.

Minnesotan communities are now forced to recover from the irreversible violence that has been done to our hearts and minds.

Deportation has torn apart Southeast Asian families for decades. Today in Minnesota, Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese, Cambodian, K’nyaw, and Karenni communities are being terrorized. ICE is showing up to our homes, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods.
