For the past five years, Emerson has been helping save lives through blood donation ❤️

While he primarily donates platelets, he occasionally rolls up his sleeve for double red cell donations, too. For Emerson, donating is a simple way to make a difference.

Having worked as an EMT, he understands firsthand how important blood products are for patients in need. That's what motivates him to keep coming back.

Every donation has the potential to save lives, and donors like Emerson help ensure blood is there when patients need it most. Thank you, Emerson, for five years of generosity and impact!

As a gay man who lived in the U.K. during Mad Cow disease, Matt was always told he was ineligible to donate blood.

Thankfully, he looked into the recently changed regulations and realized his eligibility had "shifted from a no, to a yes."

After years of assuming donation wasn’t possible, Matt finally walked through the doors as a donor — something he describes as a moment of relief and pride. This , we celebrate stories like Matt’s and the growing community of donors discovering they can give back in and save lives. 🏳️‍🌈

Up Yoga recently hosted their very first blood drive, and we were blown away by the response. This tiny but mighty studio collected an incredible 52 units of blood during a time when every donation matters.

When we called on our community during this blood emergency, chairpersons Malena and Kelsey, and the entire Up Yoga family stepped up in a big way.

But what made this drive truly special wasn't just the food or the turnout—it was the spirit behind it. It was a community coming together to help neighbors they may never meet. It was people making time in their busy lives to ensure blood is available for patients facing trauma, cancer, surgery, and countless other medical needs.

To Malena, Kelsey, every volunteer, and every donor who rolled up a sleeve: we're so grateful for you 💕

The Woodbury community has consistently answered the call for patients in need, helping to maintain our blood supply through their ongoing commitment to blood donation. Their support is especially meaningful right now as we continue to face a blood emergency.

We recently had the opportunity to visit M Health Fairview Woodwinds and personally deliver awards to Kate, the chairperson of the Woodbury Community Blood Drive. We were also able to spend time with some of the incredible volunteers who help make this drive such a success.

Every blood donation has the power to help patients facing surgeries, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, chronic illnesses, and so much more. It only takes about an hour to make a difference that can last a lifetime for someone in need.

When Eric first wanted to donate, he assumed it wasn’t possible. For many LGBTQ+ individuals, blood donation simply wasn’t an option for decades.

After years of advocacy, research, and community voices pushing for change, updated eligibility guidelines established in 2023 opened the door for more people to give safely and inclusively. Today, Eric donates knowing that because of donors like him, someone else will have a more time with their loved ones.

This Pride Month, we celebrate progress, advocacy, and the growing community of donors helping save lives. 🏳️‍🌈

Donna used to avoid donating blood, but after learning about the process and the benefits of giving, she realized her impact would be lifesaving.

Inspired by a close friend who was a firefighter and first responder, she started donating two years ago and hasn’t looked back. “I gave the gift of life today” isn’t just a sign, it’s the truth! 💪❤️
