This opportunity is available to individual artists in the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council (PLRAC), Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC), the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC).

Learn important skills and information about the meaning of intellectual property, contract basics, and how to structure your artistic business. These are all important tools to have as an artist and are often the most overlooked. Join other artists from throughout southern Minnesota for an evening of professional growth and development.

📣 We're kicking off October with a big welcome to Addison Hanson, Springboard's new Financial Specialist!

Addison recently finished her first full week at our Saint Paul office, and will work closely with our finance team to support Springboard's financial operations and initiatives like Incubator, our long-running fiscal sponsorship program for artists!

Addison is a performance artist with a BA in Theatre Arts and Mathematics. She has taught dance in the Twin Cities, choreographed for high schools across the Midwest, and performed with the St. Croix Festival Theater among others. A transplant from Iowa, Addison has fallen in love with the Minnesota arts community and can frequently be found in the audience or at art fairs supporting her fellow artists. Welcome, Addison!

🔥This morning at Springboard in Saint Paul, our Interim Director Duo Amanda Kaler (pyroette) and William Pierce officially, and literally, passed the torch to Dr. Ilah Raleigh (Ilah Raleigh), who started her first day as our new Executive Director. Of course, the ceremony wasn’t complete without a welcome dance by our trusty mascot, the Air Dancer Windy Mindy Jr. (a.k.a. Mollie Lacy)! 🌬️

📱 Coming up this weekend — We’re excited to welcome artist instructor Kazua Melissa Vang for another hands-on workshop in our Resource Lab at Springboard in Saint Paul! Join Kazua this Friday, October 2 from 1:00-4:00pm to learn some tips and tricks for shooting and editing video on a mobile device! During the workshop, participants will film and edit a short piece during a 90-minute hands-on work session. You’re welcome to bring existing footage to work with, or create something new on site. This workshop is ideal for artists, documentarians, and creatives who want to build confidence shaping stories through accessible mobile video tools. Registration is free and open to artists of all mediums.

Space is limited to 12 participants. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided. See you there!
