Minnesota Citizens for the Arts

The MCA office is closed today in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, honoring Minnesota’s Indigenous peoples, cultures, and creativity.

Celebrate by connecting with Indigenous art—today and throughout the year. Visit an exhibition, buy art from an Indigenous artist, read a book by an Indigenous author, or attend a performance.

Indigenous artists create in every corner of Minnesota. Seek out their work, learn their stories, and support their creativity.

Join Minnesota Citizens for the Arts’ Executive Director Sarah Fossen for a thought-provoking conversation with Jamie Bennett, one of the nation’s leading voices at the intersection of arts, culture, and public policy. They will explore how art doesn’t simply reflect society—it can shape public policy, strengthen civic life, and influence how communities respond during moments of profound change.

Thanks to Minnesota Citizens for the Arts for organizing today's community conversation about the future of arts funding in Minnesota—their final stop on a statewide tour.

We were hosted nearby at the Playwrights' Center in their beautiful new facility on Raymond Avenue (adaptive reuse of a 1913 warehouse). Welcome to St. Paul, The Playwrights' Center! Check them out at pwcenter.org.
