HOURCAR has announced its last day of service is Thursday, October 15–but there’s still time for city and county leaders to step in with emergency bridge funding.

For Twin Cities residents who don’t own a car, HOURCAR/Evie fills the gap for lengthy trips, grocery hauls, and more. And, access to a convenient carsharing service is so important for our thousands of neighbors who want to walk, roll, bike, and take transit more but aren’t sure about giving up a car entirely.

Join us in demanding that our leaders save carshare, and protect our progress toward the affordable, sustainable transportation system Minnesotans need and deserve!

📸 Thank you to everyone who gathered to celebrate a Livable Lyndale last Thursday! After three and a half years of tireless, grassroots organizing, we were grateful to spend an evening sharing pizza, exchanging stories, and commemorating the success of our campaign with so many of the people who helped make a Livable Lyndale possible.

As Josh, longtime volunteer, reflected, over the course of the campaign "we went from 9 people sitting in a living room making signs, to over a hundred people holding our signs [at a rally along Lyndale], then thousands of people supporting our work for a livable Lyndale Avenue. And we won! We have our livable Lyndale Avenue."

Celebrate a Livable Lyndale! Thanks to our committed, grassroots organizing, Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis recently approved a Lyndale redesign that will benefit people and our climate for decades to come. Join us on August 27 to connect with neighbors over a slice of Wrecktangle Pizza and hear from the local volunteers, organizers, and elected leaders who made the new redesign happen.

In a connected city like Saint Paul, getting errands done by bus or train can be easy! On August 22, we are headed to the Hamline Midway neighborhood for a transit tour of the light rail and Bus Rapid Transit. We'll meet at the Westbound Lexington Parkway Station on the METRO Green Line and ride it together before transferring onto the METRO A Line which we will ride to Kim's Asian Market and Mamas Market & Deli. We are so excited to be joining back up with Joon Community again on August 29! We'll be taking another transit tour, this time through various locations in Saint Paul's East Side. In this part of our city, there are a lot of amazing neighborhood destinations just a short bus ride away. Meet up with us at Boba + Tea before we head out for a bus ride to Phalen Park where we will join Indigenous Roots to celebrate 20 years of Kalipulli Yaocenoxtli, their Mexica Nahuatl in-house dance group. Then we'll wrap up the tour back at Boba + Tea, but the fun won't be over! You can optionally join us for a social hour and a drink or NA beverage from CrowBar & Voliere Spirits after the tour concludes. We hope to see you there! We’re heading out at 10:00 AM from Como Lakeside Pavilion and then exploring the neighborhood’s awesome bike paths and lanes while fun music from our friend DJ Dev keeps up our energy as we go. It’s official! The redesign of Lyndale Ave S has been approved by the City of Minneapolis.

After three years of grassroots advocacy, we are so excited to confirm: the reconstructed Lyndale will feature a new bus lane, a two-way protected bike lane, safer intersections, wider sidewalks with patio space for small businesses, green boulevards, and more. The construction to upgrade this 92-year-old street will begin in 2028.

Thank you to everyone—volunteers, local residents, elected allies, partners, and more—who helped us fight for a Livable Lyndale. Because of your voice, Lyndale Ave S will be a safer and more welcoming place for all of our neighbors to live, work, eat, and play.

‼️ Next up: the proposed design for the reconstruction of Lyndale Ave S is headed to the Mayor’s desk for its final stamp. Go to movemn.org/take-action to send a message to Mayor Frey in support of a Livable Lyndale today!

The Minneapolis City Council voted 8-4 on Thursday, July 16, to approve the redesign of Lyndale Ave S. The design includes:
🚴🏻‍♀️ a two-way protected bike lane
🚏 a new bus lane covering several blocks
🚶🏽‍♂️ improvements to pedestrian intersections
☀️ wider sidewalks with patio space for businesses
🌳 green boulevards and more!

The design does not include everything we’ve fought so hard for, but as Philip, a dedicated campaign volunteer and Lyndale neighbor shared, “this project is a big win for our community overall.”

The Mayor has until Wednesday, July 22, to either approve or veto the design proposal. Help us ensure the necessary reconstruction of Lyndale Ave S actually happens and send an email to Mayor Frey at movemn.org/take-action 🔗

Rock Your Ride is back! Join us at Hook & Ladder on August 6th for a concert fundraiser featuring hometown icon MAYYADDA and local folk/rock favs The Stinging Nettles.
