As you read this anthology, consider the love, effort, and care that went into putting it together. See your own community reflected within it, and learn about others and what matters to them. This book is a reminder of our shared humanity. As a writer, be inspired. Share your best work with the Almanac. Apply for the next Community Editor Apprenticeship. There is no greater reward than making new friends and, together, helping amplify voices from your community by presenting them in such a powerful book.

An annual, month-long celebration, Pride Month honors the LGBTQ+ community and their societal contributions, and celebrates the progress made towards a more inclusive society. It’s also a time to acknowledge the challenges this community faces and to stand in solidarity with their fight for equality, acceptance, and human rights. Pride Month is a joyful and colorful display of love, unity, and resilience. The events and activities promote inclusivity, educate the public, and celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities.

As the Pride season begins,
We stand for equality, as LGBTQ+ rights are human rights.
