For 30 years years, Common Hope has made hope real in Guatemala—even when hope was hard to come by. When all you have known is poverty, it can be hard to believe things will ever change. But our founders had a lot of hope, and they believed things could change. So they got to work alongside families, hope grew in Guatemala, and it started to become reality. They know families by name, understand their dreams, and provide the guidance and resources families need to move forward.

Our library is a place of learning, and it's also a space where families can be together, share moments, and strengthen their bonds 📚

Here, mothers create embroidery, siblings explore books together, and students do homework with the support of our tools, staff, and fellow classmates. All our affiliated families find a quiet space to share, learn, and connect! When we promote spaces like this, we promote learning, not just academic learning, but the kind that happens when families grow together.

As part of our Education program, our students crafted piñatas! Through this hands-on activity, they put into practice fine motor skills, worked together as teams, and expressed their creativity in colorful ways. When students can touch, build, and create, learning becomes something they're excited about and not something that feels distant or intimidating. Hands-on projects like these remind us that education comes alive when students are active participants in their own learning 💙

At Common Hope | Familias de Esperanza, we believe that supporting children in these early stages is important, and this also means empowering parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge to support healthy development, creating brighter futures from the very beginning.

Healthy minds are a pillar for strong families and brighter futures! Through our Healthy Minds Initiative, we are supporting over a thousand children, adolescents, and parents to strengthen their emotional skills and learn about resilience, patience, and emotional well-being across all our sites. By addressing topics such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and eating disorders, this initiative creates safe spaces for learning, healing, and growth.

¡Mentes Sanas son el pilar para familias fuertes y futuros más brillantes! A través de nuestra iniciativa "Mentes Sanas" estamos apoyando a más de mil niños, niñas, adolescentes y padres a fortalecer sus habilidades emocionales y aprender sobre resiliencia, paciencia y bienestar emocional a través de todos nuestros sitios donde trabajamos. Al abordar temas como ansiedad, depresión, TDAH, trastornos de conducta y trastornos alimenticios, esta iniciativa crea espacios seguros para aprendizaje, sanar y crecer.
