Based in St. Paul, MN, United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities is accepting applications for an assistant or associate professor of World Religions and Intercultural Studies. This is a full-time, endowed, tenure-track position.

Qualifications include a PhD or ThD in religious studies/theology (or another discipline that focuses on the academic study of world religions) and an adjacent or secondary expertise in the interpretation of religious texts and/or comparative religion. A PhD or equivalent must be completed within one year of the start date.

Dr. Andrew Packman, United’s Assistant Professor of Theological Ethics, supported by the McVay Endowment and program director for Formation, is overseas representing United at the 62nd Annual Conference of the Societas Ethica—a European society focused on ethics, including theological ethics. Held at the University of Tartu in Tartu, Estonia, August 20–23, the event is themed “Crisis and Recovery: Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue.”

Tomorrow, August 22, Packman will present his paper: “Conscience in the Wake of Irreparable Evil: Atmospheric Adhesion, Infinite Demands, and the Theological Pathos of Responsive Ethics.”
