GSA Rec Club has been selected to receive a donated AED, but we need your help. We need to have at least 25 people sign up for the CPR/AED education class at noon on June 6, 2026. There will also be free EKG screenings for anyone ages 13-30 who takes the class. Compress and Shock is also providing free pizza to all afternoon learners.

FREE GSA 🥎️ Softball Clinics

When: Sun Mar 1st 2:00-4:00pm & Sun Mar 8th 2:00-4:00pm

Who: Girls ages 5-17 interested in playing Softball

Where: Woodrow Wilson Middle School / Raleigh Court Park

New or Experienced players welcome!
Do not have to register for GSA softball to participate

We will split the kids into age groups and focus on pitching, throwing, hitting, and fielding.

Goal of helping players build skills and excitement for the game in preparation for team formation and practices in March.

We also encourage any parents who are interested in coaching or assistant coaching to come help out and learn some tips and tricks for running practices and facilitating drills.

What to Bring/Wear: Glove & Water bottle needed

-Wear layers to stay warm
- Helmet and bat are optional

Interested in Coaching?

During the player's clinic, experienced coaches will discuss tips and tricks for planning and holding a fun and active practice with your players. If you have been thinking about coaching or assisting, please join us so we may discuss some ideas and tools to help support. More coaches means more teams and more girls playing!

🥎️Softball

You can register your child at gsasports.org.

Softball ranges in age from 5-17 years old in the following age groups: 8U (born in 2016-2019), 10U (2014-2015), 13U (2011-2013), and 17U (2007-2010). We will once again partner with the Roanoke Area Youth Softball Association (RAYSA) to provide GSA teams the opportunity to play against teams from the surrounding area.

Practices will begin in mid-March and games will begin in April.

We are always in need of volunteers to help coach. Please, do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
