Last month, Keenan from our Health Services team, along with our two summer interns, Sadie and Logan, had a great time participating in the Wellness Rodeo at Melrose Library!

We enjoyed the opportunity to spend more time in our community and connect more people to the resources offered by our health services team! The Drop-In Center

Thank you, Melrose!

The Wellness Rodeo is back today! If you're in the Bedford area, stop by District 20 Probation & Parole from 3–5 p.m. to connect with local organizations, learn about available community resources, and receive free 5NP ear acupuncture.

🎉Meet our intern, Sadie!

Sadie attends Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where she’s pursuing a degree in literature and anthropology. This summer, she’s working with our Housing Services and Community Engagement teams, gaining experience across a variety of programs and projects throughout the Council.

So far, Sadie’s favorite part of her internship has been accompanying the City of Roanoke’s Homeless Assistance Team (HAT), conducting street outreach.

One of her favorite spots in Roanoke is The Toebean Cat Café.

We’re grateful to have Sadie with us this summer through the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty and appreciate all she’s contributed to our team!

Sadie and Logan will be with us until the end of the month! If you have a favorite Roanoke spot, activity, or must-try restaurant, drop your recommendations in the comments below. 👇

🎉 Meet our intern, Logan!

Logan attends Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where he's pursuing a degree in religion and philosophy. This summer, he's working with The Drop-In Center Health Services team, supporting prevention services.

So far, Logan's favorite part of his internship has been helping with our National Testing Day event. During the event, our Health Services team, in partnership with the Roanoke City Health Department, served 24 individuals.

When he's not interning, Logan is exploring the Roanoke Valley. His favorite local experiences so far include visiting The Star and relaxing at The Toebean Cat Café.

We're grateful to have Logan with us this summer through the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty!
