🐕 ❤️ During our caregiver support group, we welcomed a special four-legged visitor to Kinship House.

For children navigating foster care and adoption, a therapy dog offers comfort, connection, and unconditional acceptance. The evening was filled with high fives, cuddles, belly rubs, and smiles.

Moments like these help create a sense of safety and belonging for the children and families we serve. Thank you to our community for making them possible.

One of the sweetest parts of our caregiver support group is getting to create moments like this for families. 💛

While caregivers spent time connecting and receiving support, kids got to paint, sip custom lemonades, and simply enjoy being kids together. 🎨🍋

Oma’s Hideaway is featuring their Here Comes the Sun cocktail as part of Kinship Tables this May ☀️💛

Throughout the month, $1 from every cocktail sold will support Kinship House and help provide therapy, advocacy, and mental health services for youth and families impacted by foster care and adoption.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, which makes this partnership feel especially meaningful to us. We’re so grateful to local businesses like Oma’s for finding creative ways to support kids and families in our community.

This spring, we’ve expanded our garden at Kinship House 🌱

The children and families we serve will have opportunities to help water, harvest, and care for the space together throughout the year. Gardening can support regulation, routine, sensory exploration, patience, and connection, all things that matter deeply in trauma-informed spaces.

Thank you to Al’s Garden & Home and Portland Nursery for helping us bring this project to life through their generosity and support. 💛
