We endorsed more than 3 dozen candidates in last week's Primary election and 79% of them won or are advancing to the November ballot!

The 👏 people 👏 want 👏 climate 👏 champions 👏 in 👏 office.

While there are too many awesome success stories to share in one place, here's just a few:

⚡Myrna Munoz, a longtime educator supported by environmental and labor organizations, unseated incumbent Janeen Sollman in part due to Sollman's support for Big Tech and data center expansion in Senate District 15

⬅ Dr. Tammy Carpenter, a physician and proud Democratic Socialist, pulled House District 27 to the left by succeeding Ken Helm

🔬Jamie Collins, a trained climate scientist, helped turn the historically conservative Deschutes County Commission proudly progressive

These victories represent huge wins for the people against an establishment and corporate politic that isn't reflective of the severity and urgency of today's moment.

The Portland Clean Energy Fund has built a community solar project to reduce emissions and lower energy bills for 150 low-income families, has distributed more than 20k free air conditioners to help vulnerable households prepare for heat waves, has funded energy retrofits for 3,100 homes, and trained 2k people in renewable energy and construction.

The Portland Clean Energy Fund has raised a billion dollars for climate change action via a retail tax on large corporations in the city. Other cities are starting to shape similar funds.

We're still waiting on some big races to be decided. ⏳

Until then, 70% of the Sierra Club Oregon endorsed candidates in decided races are advancing to the November general! Voters care about the climate and want to see climate champions in office. Stay tuned!

Only a few days til the May 19th Primary Election!

MAKE SURE YOU FILL OUT & DROP YOUR BALLOT BY 8PM TUESDAY MAY 19TH!

Primary Elections shape so much in local and state politics. We know there is plenty of mudslinging and attack ads in races where the stakes are high and the candidates greatly differ. That's why it's important to us to say it loud and clear: is the clear environmental champion running in Oregon's State Senate District 15 (Hillsboro/Washington County). Muñoz supports limiting and regulating data centers, while her opponent tried to pave over 1,700 acres of quality farmland for big tech warehouses.

In these final days of the Primary Election, we hope you'll also support other top priority candidates of ours, including:
