Latino Network programs prepare parents to be their children's first teachers, and 3-5 year olds to be ready for kindergarten; build a college-going culture for middle and high school students to prepare them to graduate high school and be ready for college and career; work to prevent gang involvement and support adjudicated youth in pursuing education and employment; and build leadership and advocacy skills for youth and adults to be agents of change.

This spring, the SUN team at Wilkes Elementary partnered with the Rockwood Tool Library and Reynolds School District facilities to build a school garden.

For some students who find it difficult to sit still or stay focused in a traditional classroom, pulling weeds, digging in the soil, and caring for plants gives them a chance to channel their energy in a positive way.

Instead of feeling restless, we’ve seen these students become our most dedicated leaders. Seeing the results of their hard work has given them a deep sense of pride and an eager desire to return to the garden every day.

In light of Monday’s Supreme Court ruling, Latino Network would like to reaffirm that
all voters can still vote by mail in Oregon and that this decision did NOT take away any voter’s ability to vote by mail.

As Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read said: “"The bottom line is: Oregon’s elections are secure, accurate, and fair. They will proceed as planned this November, free from any illegal federal interference."

Today, we are mourning the great Dolly Parton, a lifelong champion of social justice and of children's literacy. Because of her work, thousands of children all over the United States and all over Oregon have access to the Imagination Library, allowing them to receive free books every month from birth until kindergarten.

📚 Latino Network’s Ninth Grade Counts program helps incoming 9th graders build the skills and confidence they need for high school success—from time management and leadership to college planning, career exploration, and more.

Through four weeks of classes, enrichment activities, field trips, and college visits, students can earn 0.5 academic credits toward graduation while having fun and building community.

Students who finish 9th grade with 6 credits are 5x more likely to graduate high school successfully. Let’s set students up for success from day one!

In 2025, Anaely was one of Latino Network’s Paso a Paso Scholarship recipients.

Still in touch with her mentor at Latino Network, Anaely is in college pursuing her goals, double majoring in Political Science and Chicano/Latino Studies.
