Portland live performance lovers, this one’s for you 🎭✨

Eastside Jewish Commons is launching a brand new staged reading series celebrating bold, moving, and imaginative Jewish storytelling - bringing together some of the region’s most exciting theatre makers for 3 unforgettable nights.

From Venice to Antarctica, these stories travel across time, place, identity, and connection - and everyone is invited. ✨

This inaugural series features:
📖 Everything that Never Happened by Sarah Mantell - May 31
❄️ ANTARKTIKOS by Andrea Stolowitz - June 10
✉️ Address Unknown by Kathrine Kressmann Taylor - June 15

After years without a dedicated platform for Jewish theatre in Portland, this new series helps reignite that artistic legacy while creating an inclusive space for community, conversation, and live performance.

“We are thrilled (we want to say ‘kvelling.’ Can we say ‘kvelling?’) to invite lovers of theatre to EJC to discover an inclusive new space in which to connect with the dynamic present and rich tradition of Jewish stories on stage,” says EJC Executive Director Cary Clarke.

Jon Fisch () is one of only a handful of comedians to appear on both The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert - and now he’s coming to Portland at EJC! 😊

A prolific monologist with universal appeal, Jon’s comedy takes on the idiosyncrasies of city living with the kind of sharp observational humor that’s made him a standout at comedy festivals across the country, including Montreal’s prestigious Just for Laughs Festival.

Join at EJC for a night of smart, hilarious stand-up from one of NYC’s favorite comics!

📍 Eastside Jewish Commons (@2420 NE Sandy Blvd. Portland, OR 97232)
🗓️ Sunday June 7 | 7 to 9 PM
