Meet Carson, a beautiful 7 year old calico who is finally getting her chance at a peaceful, loving life.

She is available for adoption through Animal Friends H2H Rehoming adoption program.

At Animal Friends, we believe the best place for a pet is with a loving family. Our H2H Rehoming program offers an alternative to surrendering by allowing families to actively participate in rehoming their pets.

Carson came from a hoarding situation, and while she can be a little shy at first, she has a soft, sweet spirit that shines once she feels safe. Carson enjoys quiet companionship, gentle voices, and calm environments. She's the kind of cat who blossoms slowly but deeply — the kind who will reward patience with trust, affection, and quiet loyalty.

Age: 7 years
Temperament: Shy at first, gentle, sweet
Background: Rescued from a hoarding situation
Ideal Home: Calm, patient, loving If you believe in second chances, Carson is ready for hers.

ADOPT A SHELTER DOG MONTH: MEET TITO!

Some dogs are professional couch potatoes. Tito? He’s more of a professional zoomie champion.

This spunky 2-year-old came to Animal Friends as a transfer from a partner organization, and he’s ready to find a home where he can put his playful personality to good use. His favorite activities include fetching stuffies, tugging on rope toys and showing off his best outdoor zoomies.

Tito has plenty of young-dog energy and would love a family who can keep him active and continue his positive reinforcement training. Luckily, there’s one thing that makes training extra fun: Tito LOVES treats.

He can live with human friends 13 and older who are ready for an energetic pup. Tito would prefer to be the one and only pet in the home—no cats or other dogs, please! He also needs a home rather than communal living, such as an apartment or townhome.

Could your home be the perfect match for this playful pup? Fill out an application at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org

It's Tongues Out Tuesday, Meet Billie!

This sweet 1-year-old gal may be a little shy, but she’s learning that good things can happen when you take life one gentle step at a time.

Billie came to Animal Friends after being abandoned and rescued by our Humane Investigations team. While shelter life can feel a little overwhelming, she’s making wonderful progress! Give her a little time, move at her pace and she’ll reward you with a nose-to-finger sniff, gentle eye blinks and maybe even a little tongue-out moment.

Billie can live with other cats and would do best in a calm home with children 13 or older who understand that trust takes time. She may not be the loudest cat in the room, but Billie has a lot of love to give. If you have a peaceful corner and a quiet heart, Billie may be the purr-fect match for you fill out an application at ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org.

World Teachers’ Day is here and our shelter dogs have a few lessons to share.

Lesson #1: Every day is worth celebrating.
A walk? A treat? A sunny spot? Our dogs know how to find the joy in the little things.

Lesson #2: Second chances can change everything.
Some of our dogs have had a rough start, but they’re always ready to learn, grow and love again.

Lesson #3: Be curious.
Sniff everything. Investigate everything. Never stop exploring.

Lesson #4: It’s okay to ask for help.
Whether it’s learning a new skill or figuring out this whole “sit” thing, there’s no shame in needing a little guidance.

Lesson #5: Love makes a difference.
A little patience, kindness and compassion can go a very long way.

Lesson #6: Don’t hold a grudge.
Missed the treat? Try again. Someone stepped on your paw? Forgive and move on. Dinner is coming.

Lesson #7: You’re never too old to learn something new.
Shelter dogs of all ages are learning new skills, building confidence and discovering what it means to feel safe and loved.

The best part? Our shelter dogs aren’t just students—they’re teachers, too. And their lessons are ones we could all use a little more of.

And since it’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, there’s no better time to sign up for a little one-on-one learning.

Come meet your next great teacher and give a shelter dog the chance to teach you a thing or two. You just might graduate with a little more love, laughter and loyalty than you came in with.
