Come see this incredible collaboration at our fair booth this year! We're thrilled with this innovative sandbox built from recycled plastics that our friends at AK Plastic Recovery put together. 🏖

Grizzly Wood Sandbox at the Alaska State Fair

Recycled plastic meets recycled glass — come see it at the Alaska State Fair! 🏖️♻️

We built this sandbox out of Grizzly Wood for our friends at Valley Community for Recycling Solutions (VCRS) — and it's filled with something pretty cool: sand and sand made from recycled glass. So it's recycled plastic holding recycled glass. Recycling, all the way down. 😄

Find it at the VCRS booth, where we're proud to be sharing space for the third year running. Swing by, let the kids dig in, and see how Alaska's "waste" gets a whole new life.

⭐ B.O.G.O. SALE on our recycled glass SAND and CULLETS! ⭐

Get two-for-one jugs of pulverized glass sand and/or larger gravel-sized cullet. This glass has been transformed from recycled bottles and jars right here at our recycling center in Palmer! 🍾
It's great for landscaping, traction sand come winter, even as extra drainage in areas that get waterlogged during our upcoming rainy autumn season. 🌧 Added to soil or compost, it makes excellent potting soil for succulents or other water-sensitive plants. Layered on top of dirt in potted plants, it keeps gnats from recurring by blocking their access to soil. We've also had some feedback that either size of recycled glass will deter slugs... 🐌❌
If you'd like a truck or trailer load, that's half off too! It's $12 each scoop of our loader.

Get ready to top off your garden for fall, use it as nutrient-rich mulch, or mix some with our crushed glass sand for a well-draining and balanced potting soil. 🌻
For a limited time, you can get 2 bags/buckets of compost for $5 - we have some bags, but bringing your own bucket or container to fill is encouraged! 🪣
You can also nab a large load of compost into your truck or trailer for just $12.
🌲🌳🍃 This compost is fully cured from last season's yard waste and brush pile at the landfill.
