Hosting something during Colony Christmas?

If your business or organization is planning an event, activity, open house, performance, holiday special, workshop, or other festive fun during December 11–13, we want to include it in the Colony Christmas schedule.

Adding your event helps visitors see just how much there is to do throughout Palmer during Colony Christmas weekend—and gives them even more reasons to shop, eat, explore, and stay awhile.

Colony Christmas Memories: 2007
Nearly 20 years later, some of the details may look a little different, but the feeling of Colony Christmas is still the same.
Families bundled up for the cold, downtown Palmer full of activity, and a community coming together to celebrate the season.
That’s what Generations of Christmas Joy is all about. ❤️
Were you coming to Colony Christmas back in 2007? What do you remember most?

Two markets. One festive weekend.
One of the best parts of Colony Christmas is wandering through the markets and seeing just how much variety there is in one weekend.
This year, shoppers will find vendors at both the Palmer Train Depot and the Mat-Su Borough Gym, filled with makers, bakers, creators, and small businesses ready for Christmas weekend.
Whether you’re shopping for gifts, treats, something handmade, or just enjoying the atmosphere, make sure you give yourself time to visit both market locations.

Generations of Christmas Joy
One of the best parts of looking back through old Colony Christmas photos is realizing just how many families have made this weekend part of their Christmas traditions over the years.
The events may change a little, kids grow up, and new traditions get added, but there are some things about Colony Christmas that just feel like Palmer.
What’s the first thing you remember about Colony Christmas?
Was it the parade? Fireworks? Santa? Shopping the markets? Or something completely different?
We’d love to hear your memories in the comments.

A small change for this year’s Colony Christmas fireworks!
With construction at the Palmer Library making our usual fireworks area unavailable, this year’s fireworks will be launched from the Pavilion area, right across from the Library.
So don’t worry, the fireworks are still right in the heart of Colony Christmas, just from a slightly different spot this year. ✨
📅 Saturday, December 12
📍 Pavilion area, Downtown Palmer
We’ll share more viewing and event day details as we get closer.
Please help us spread the word!

What’s your Colony Christmas tradition?

Maybe it’s Christmas shopping with your mom. Bringing the kids downtown bundled up from head to toe. Meeting friends for lunch. Watching the lights, finding that one perfect handmade gift, or simply spending the day wandering around Palmer and seeing who you run into.

After looking back through nearly two decades of Colony Christmas photos, we were reminded that this weekend means something a little different to everyone, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

This year’s theme, Generations of Christmas Joy, is all about the traditions, memories, and moments that get passed from one Christmas to the next.

So tell us, what do you look forward to most about Colony Christmas? And how long have you been celebrating with us?

Some things aren’t trends. They’re traditions.

Colony Christmas is the real thing, a celebration rooted in our community, bringing generations of families, businesses, makers and neighbors together in Downtown Palmer year after year.

The Colony Christmas Market is part of that tradition. It’s a place to shop from local makers and small businesses, find something you won’t see everywhere else, and spend a December weekend experiencing Christmas in Palmer.

No trend needed. Just a Palmer tradition that keeps getting better.
