We also fully support the North Am

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

It will be great to catch up with all of the familiar faces, see dogs that are a year older, and to welcome new pups/dogs to the crew!

If you have been to a training day before then you know what to expect. If this is your first time then here is a little information.

For this Saturday we will have access to the field (no water this month). Alaska Yukon NAVHDA has equipment (winger zinger, Dokkens, Chain gang, bird launchers, orange vests, etc etc) that you can borrow during training day.

Typically there is no shortage of members willing to shoot for you (if you need a shooter). Otherwise feel free to bring a break open shotgun and some ammo. You will have the opportunity to work on anything you feel like you and your dog need (steadiness, obedience, land retrieves, bird exposure, gun exposure, use of a field to run, etc). There will be some food and drinks provided by Alaska Yukon NAVHDA make sure to stick around for lunch too!

Saturday May 30th at Boyd’s. We will be getting started at 9:00 in the morning and running until approximately 4:00 P.M. Please remember the following:

Please follow all posted signs. Stay on marked roads and do not drive on the fields. Drive slow. Use of the property is a privilege.
Please respect the landowner and property.
Clean up after your dog.
When in the field, blaze orange is required.
Only use areas that have been designated available for use.
What to bring:

· Kennel and leash for your dog.

· Water for your dog

· Live Birds (If you have them)

· Training bumpers or dead birds

· Training topics you would like to work on.

· Shotgun (break action) and ammo.

We will only have access to the field this time. No water work during this training day.

If you have questions please reach out ([email protected]).
We are happy to help guide you or come up with a training plan if you have any questions.
Finally, for those of you that bought birds from the chapter they will be available during training day. Don't forgot to come pick them up!

See you Saturday

We had a great turnout for our Field Dog First Aid Class last weekend. We'd like to offer a huge thanks to our local veterinarian, Sara Zimmerman (Glacier Ridge Veterinary Services), for her time and wealth of knowledge she shared to help us all keep our best friend's in tip-top shape.
Whether you're on a hunt or just out on a walk with the family, we should be prepared for whatever nature can throw at us.

Hope you all had a Happy Easter! Happy trails.
