We wrestle on Native land.

Today and every day, we honor the land we are fortunate to wrestle and grow on—and the Indigenous peoples whose cultures, communities, and contributions help shape Alaska’s wrestling story.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

Here we go.

What makes Ascendance special is that it was coordinated, managed, and led by alumni. Jayleen and Noelle came to us with a vision, took ownership of the planning and logistics, and Alaska Girls Wrestle simply supported and guided them where we could.

Congratulations on an incredible camp, ladies. Your leadership, initiative, and dedication made Ascendance a tremendous success.

Another big thank you to following supporters:

We got to chat with Alaska’s latest 110Lb All-American, Nixie Schooler, about her approach to the National Girls HS Showcase. Schooler, from Juneau, battled her way up from the backside of her bracket to earn her 8th place finish. Her journey from last years showcase has many lessons we can all learn from.

Way to stay gritty, Nixie!
