FIGMENT NYC 2026 will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11a-6p at El Barrio Artspace PS 109 at 215 East 99th Street on the Upper East Side!

We will have indoor and outdoor space, and we intend to fill the venue with participatory art, experiences, and performances. We also have submitted a permit application to NYC Parks to use Cherry Tree Park, next door to PS 109, for art projects as well. So hopefully we can grow in this new location!

We want to see your work! Art at FIGMENT can be anything, as long as it’s interactive: sculpture, installation, performance, experience, workshop. Our focus is on bringing people together in person (IRL!) around creativity, unmediated by commerce. So FIGMENT is free, and nothing is for sale.

Volunteer to help make FIGMENT NYC happen!
We have the core of our FIGMENT NYC 2026, but we need more help to make it happen! We’re looking for people to help coordinate with artists (curators), and people to help get the word out (communications) and also people to help plan and manage the overall event (production). This year, Figment Project NYC will be
Artspace PS109 to host FIGMENT NYC on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11a-6p! 🎨

In order to get our planning process started in earnest, we'll be meeting next Thursday, July 2, at 7pm at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at 40 Lincoln Center Plaza (entrance at 111 Amsterdam between 64th and 65th) 🏫

Hello NYC Friends! Please join us on Wednesday, September 17th for a special FIGMENT NYC Edition of the NYC Burning Man Happy Hour!

FIGMENT started in 2007 in NYC, as a free, inclusive, open-to-everyone participatory art festival based on Burning Man's 10 Principles (with one added: Gratitude). FIGMENT spread to other cities, and has to date hosted over 80 free large-scale participatory festivals in 20 cities in 5 countries. Now it's time to reinvent FIGMENT in NYC. While we are hosting events in other places in 2025--Boston (7/19) and Toronto https://toronto.figmentproject.org/ (9/20-21), as well as our ALPHA event in MD (4/24-27)--we weren't able to have an NYC event this year. We're looking to build a new team, and a new vision for FIGMENT NYC 2026. Will you join us?
