Educators: What’s one thing you’re most excited about as you welcome students back to school?

In a monthly newsletter to Colorado educators, the Colorado Department of Education (Colorado Department of Education) highlighted one of our Connection Architects, Baochau Thomas, who is excited to orchestrate Magnetic Moments amongst staff and students, knowing that the authentic connection they build will result in a better environment for learning, engagement, and achievement.

What are Magnetic Moments, you ask?

Simply put: they connect and strengthen your ecosystem through intentional moments that keep curiosity and wonder alive, create space for honest conversations, spark unlimited joy, and build a wider supportive community. 🧲✨

One of the cards in our Connection Circle Deck is inspired by Sylvia Earle: shared wonder as a form of connection.

Ocean explorer, scientist, someone who has spent a lifetime asking people to care about something bigger than themselves. Her question on the card isn’t complicated — but it’s the kind of question that changes a room when it’s actually asked.

That’s the whole premise of the deck: prompts drawn from people who’ve spent their lives building real connections, distilled into something you can use in sixty seconds.

“What does ‘All-In’ actually mean?”

That’s the question JAG award winner Janet Parker-Spain put to her students at Joplin Schools — and the answer they landed on wasn’t about effort. It was about connection: commitment, leadership, and relationships, all braided together.

It worked so well that now visiting professionals get asked by the students how connection shows up in their own workplaces.

That’s a Connection Architect at work. 💙

Embracing friction in relationship and finding forgiveness helps create stronger partnerships.

It may be difficult, but it’s so important and so worth it. 💙

The Connection Circle Card Deck isn’t meant to sit in a drawer or as a file on your phone.

Pull one card before a team meeting. Read it out loud before dinner. Hand one to a new hire on their first day. The prompts are built to open a door in under sixty seconds — no facilitation training required.

Learn more and get your free download of our deck, mobile-swipeable or printable in our bio. 💙
