Would you want to live in a rat palace? Rodent infestation and extreme building neglect are the norm for tenants living in this E. 114th St building, formerly owned by Emerald Equities.

That’s why residents are organizing with the East Harlem Tenant Union to help secure community ownership.

Tenants deserve better, and that starts with standing together to demand better, thinking past the status quo, and envisioning what’s possible together.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of our longtime CVH member and former board member, Ketny Jean-Francois, on Saturday, September 19.

Ketny was deeply committed to her son Alex, our community and CVH as a whole. She was an active participant in our Welfare Workforce campaign and in many other CVH campaigns throughout the years. She always fought for what was right—with love, conviction, and a wonderful sense of humor.

Ketny would not want us to grieve only with tears. She would want us to honor her by continuing the work of truly liberating our communities and fighting for justice.  

Words cannot capture how much we will miss her. 💙
