A big thank you to Taylor Adams, our incredible summer Communications Intern! Thank you for joining our team as we worked to make sure Northside's children have a successful back-to-school season. She also helped support and publicize Northside's programs by redesigning our informational brochures and taking photos of program events for social media. Take a look at some of her great work, and the school supplies that were donated thanks to her efforts. Weโ€™re grateful for your support Taylor!

Northside President Paula Magnus was proud to join community leaders, healthcare advocates, and elected officials at the 40th Somos Inc. reception at El Museo del Barrio, connecting with colleagues and sharing ideas about how we can continue strengthening care for children and families across New York.

At Northside, conversations about health equity are personal. Every day, we see what it means when a child can get the behavioral or mental health support they need, when a family has a trusted place to turn, or when a young child has access to services that help them learn, grow, and thrive.

Making that possible takes more than access to care. It takes strong leadership, meaningful partnerships, sustained investment, and reimbursement structures that give community-based organizations the resources to provide high-quality services and be there for families when they need us.

Our mission calls us to be an active part of the communities we serve, and to have a voice in the conversations shaping their future. We are proud to continue advocating for the children and families who are at the heart of everything we do. ๐Ÿ’™

โชโ˜€๏ธ SUMMER REWIND AT NORTHSIDE! ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’™

Weโ€™re rewinding to one of our favorite summertime moments: Northside President Paula Magnus on Spectrum News NY1! Did you catch the interview? Let us know in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡

If you spend even a moment talking with our President, one thing quickly becomes clear: advocating for the behavioral and mental health of the children and families Northside serves across NYC is at the heart of Paulaโ€™s leadership.

Carrying forward the extraordinary legacy of our founders, Drs. Mamie Phipps Clark and Kenneth B. Clark, Paula sat down with the wonderful Cheryl Wills to discuss the importance of prioritizing the mental health of Black children in NYC, the need for accessible, culturally responsive care, and the critical role Northside continues to play in the lives of children and families across our city.

Whether you caught it the first time or simply want to hit rewind on one of your favorite summer viewing moments ๐Ÿ˜‰, this conversation is definitely worth a rewatch.

Youth in our Summer Enrichment program got the chance to explore the world of digital art! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’ป

In partnership with NALA Projects, who have been leading inspiring art classes at Northside all summer, our young artists learned digital design techniques and created artwork of their own.

Thank you to NALA Projects for helping our children discover new ways to express their creativity through art, technology, and hands-on learning. And a special thank you to the Apple Store team for welcoming us and providing such an engaging experience!

Opportunities like these help children build confidence, develop new skills, and see themselves as creators.

As we recognize , we're grateful for the partnerships that make our work possible.

Thank you to the Mayor's Office of Nonprofit Services (MONS) for organizing this annual celebration of New York City's nonprofit community and for being a valued partner to Northside. We appreciated the opportunity to welcome their team to our headquarters earlier this year and share more about our work.

With strong support from the City and partners like MONS, nonprofits across NYC can continue strengthening communities and serving our neighbors every day.

We had a great time connecting with families at the HARLEM WEEK Inc. NYC Children's Festival! The event celebrated the creativity and energy of Harlem's young people, with arts and crafts, live performances and community resources. We were proud to be there representing Northside, sharing info about our programs that support Harlem children and families, and continuing to support this community we've been rooted in since 1946 ๐Ÿ’™

Wellness Wednesday Tip! This week, Stephanie, a Social Service Coordinator at Northside's Brooklyn Head Start, shares a simple but powerful reminder:

Take a deep breath. ๐ŸŒฟ

When emotions start to feel overwhelming, focusing on your breath is something you can control. Slowing down, even for a few seconds, can help you reset, regulate your emotions, and respond with a clearer mind.

Sometimes the smallest step can make the biggest difference.
