.saladino who writes for World News, stopped by Mount Zion A.M.E. Church today to talk with us about food insecurity in East Harlem and the work of our food pantry.

Food insecurity is not only about whether food is available. Rising grocery prices, changes and cuts to public benefits, and poor community leadership all impact whether families can consistently put food on the table.

We are grateful for the coalitions, consortiums, churches, nonprofits, food providers, and community partners throughout Harlem that continue to work together to make sure resources reach our neighbors.

Thank you Dan taking the time to come directly into the community, listen, and learn from the people doing this work every day.

Thank you to Kaye Trueblood and GlamStars Inc. for partnering with us to support young people and families in East Harlem.

Their generosity in providing backpacks and school supplies will help students begin the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed. We are grateful not only for the donation, but also for the opportunity to be part of an event that celebrated community, confidence, and young people.

Partnerships like this remind us that when organizations come together with a shared commitment to serving others, our communities are stronger because of it.
