🌟 At the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum at the UN Headquarters, our member Ananya shared her inspiring journey of transforming challenges into opportunities for change.

Her passion for education began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when one of her teachers reminded her that education is a privilege, a privilege denied to many. Determined to act, Ananya started teaching English to young girls over phone calls, ensuring that learning didn’t stop even in crisis.

In college, she carried this spirit forward by joining Enactus, where she worked on social entrepreneurship projects. One of her impactful initiatives was teaching women in local bastis to create toilet cleaners from fruit peels, combating unhygienic conditions while empowering women with livelihood skills.

At the Forum, Ananya actively engaged in sessions on gender equality and youth empowerment, contributing her perspective on how grassroots actions by youth can lead to systemic change.

Her story is a reminder that small steps taken with compassion can create lasting impact, from a phone call during Covid to a global platform at the UN 🌍💪

🌍✨ During the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York, our member Gunanya shared her powerful insights on health and well-being.

She reflected on her journey of engaging with the medical community and raising awareness about mental health, emphasizing the importance of understanding and supporting individuals instead of victimizing them.

Gunanya also highlighted her research on the impact of the digital world on mental health, which she plans to expand to the grassroots level soon. In addition, she spoke about her experience in community medicine through her college, and her active participation in Forum sessions on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being.

Her message was clear: advancing mental health awareness and equitable healthcare must remain at the center of our global development agenda 💙🕊️

💡✨ At the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York, our member Ish*ta highlighted the critical role of youth in shaping the future.

She shared her insights on the need for direct funding to youth-led initiatives, bridging the intergenerational gap, and the importance of youth participation in politics. For Ish*ta, investing in young people means investing in technology, innovation, and inclusive opportunities.

Drawing from her experience with marginalized young women in India, she spoke about how education can break cycles of poverty, sharing the example of schools offering free education to empower the next generation.

Her message to youth was powerful: set aside hesitation, be confident in your ability to change the world, stay resourceful, and never stop seeking opportunities. 🌍✨ Our member Ananya delivered a powerful intervention on 17th April at the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters.

Speaking on behalf of youth of India, home to one of the world’s youngest populations, Ananya reminded global leaders that youth are not just the future, but the most powerful force shaping the present.

She highlighted the stark gap between youth potential and opportunities, noting that while over half of the world’s population is under 30, only 2.6% of parliamentarians fall in this age group, and 258 million young people remain out of school.

Ananya called for urgent action to bridge the divide between rhetoric and resources by scaling financing models for youth-led enterprises, ensuring long-term investment, mentorship, and political support, and centering South-South cooperation to localize jobs and empower young innovators.

She concluded with a powerful message: “When youth awaken to their mission, they can transform history”

🎤 Youth Voice at the UN | ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025

Our member, Shivangi, delivered an impactful intervention during Day 2 of the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters, representing the youth of India.

She highlighted inspiring examples of youth-led action — from the Green Innovators Network in Kerala, which reduced flood damage by 40% while creating jobs, to India’s Youth Parliament programme, engaging over 1 million young citizens in shaping national policy. She also spotlighted regional and global successes, including standardized air quality monitoring in five South Asian countries and the UN Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change securing dedicated funding for youth-led adaptation projects.

Shivangi underscored that these successes share common ingredients: institutional commitment to youth decision-making authority, adequate resources, intergenerational mentorship, and diverse representation.

Her message was clear: “When youth participation moves beyond tokenism to genuine partnership, policies become more innovative, inclusive, and effective, making it essential for achieving the SDGs”

🎤 Youth Voice at the UN | ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025

We’re proud to share that our member, Ish*ta, delivered a powerful intervention during the Plenary Session on “ from Local to Global: Meaningful Youth Participation in Policymaking & Decision-Making” at the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum.

Ish*ta emphasized the importance of transformative youth leadership, particularly within SDG 5 – Gender Equality, and broader decision-making processes.

She put forward two urgent calls to action:
1. 💰 Direct funding for youth-led solutions in education, technology access, and leadership.
2. 🤝 Intergenerational co-leadership in policymaking across gender, education, climate, and tech.

“We are not just advocates—we are the ones driving change on the ground. We are not the future—we are the present, and we are here”

Our Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, David, along with members Ish*ta, Ananya, Shivangi, and gunanya, participated in critical dialogues and sessions at the 14th ECOSOC Youth Forum held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

They advocated for youth-led implementation of the 2030 Agenda, multilateral cooperation, and strengthening youth participation in global decision-making processes.

Their engagement reflected our continued commitment to ensuring that young voices from the Global South and climate-vulnerable communities are heard at the highest levels of international policymaking.

🌊 Our Oceans, Our Responsibility! 🌍

We’re proud to share that our Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Parth, served as Moderator at a powerful side-event titled “Guardians of the Ocean: Protecting Oceans, Preserving Life and Livelihood”, organized by the Children & Youth Constituency for Sustainable Communities of the Major Group for Children and Youth, during the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD). 🌐⚓

The session brought together voices from across sectors to emphasize the critical role of ocean conservation in sustainable development, spotlighting the urgent need to protect marine ecosystems, secure coastal livelihoods, and promote climate resilience in Africa and beyond.

Parth steered the dialogue with a focus on youth leadership, community-based action, and intergenerational collaboration as central pillars of ocean preservation.
